Why go back to Notldun, a Seongsu dessert café?

Notldun is a pastry boutique on Seoul Forest 2-gil. Before meeting J for lunch after a long time, showing up empty-handed felt a bit awkward, so while looking for a good Seongsu dessert spot for a gift, I remembered how sweet everything was last time at Notldun — and today I went back.

Some places you loved once just pop into your head out of nowhere later on, and Notldun, the pastry boutique by chefs Kim Myeongjun and Ha Minjae, is one of those places that's a shame to skip if you're ever debating where to get dessert around Seoul Forest or Ttukseom.

The quality and packaging feel like hotel-level desserts, and the taste, texture, and combination of ingredients are all so well put together that it makes a great gift — and visiting when you're craving something sweet just puts you in a good mood. If you're looking for a good dessert spot in Seongsu, this is definitely worth a visit.

How to reach Notldun from Ttukseom or Seoul Forest Station, and where to park

Notldun, the Seoul Forest café, is located toward Seoul Forest from Exit 5 of Seoul Forest Station, or Exit 8 of Ttukseom Station. Parking right in front of the store is difficult, so it's worth noting you can use the Ttukseom Yusuji public parking lot instead.

Inside Notldun: the space and the drink menu

Inside, Notldun is on the small side, with a calm atmosphere that's good for quiet conversation. Rather than a busy, buzzing vibe, it felt like a good spot to sit and chat quietly — perfect for a date.

From basic coffee to sweet lattes, they have a range of drinks that go well alongside the desserts.

Gift packing at Notldun and the online store

Notldun's packaging, from the paper shopping bag to the cooler bag, is clean and lets you carry your desserts home safely, which makes it great for gifting too. They've also opened an online store now, so if Seoul Forest feels too far to visit, it might be worth ordering online.

Valrhona Guanaja 40th anniversary madeleine selection

There's also a Valrhona madeleine selection celebrating the 40th anniversary of Guanaja, the iconic dark chocolate from the premium French chocolate brand. Madeleines and a gâteau that let you taste the many layers of Valrhona chocolate flavor — definitely worth trying.

Signature Blanc and Signature Noir at Notldun

Notldun has two signatures: Blanc and Noir. I tried the Signature Noir on my last visit, and I was struck by how deep the flavor was, with several notes coming together in harmony.

You really have to try it!

The distinctive look you won't find anywhere else really stood out to me. Today I packed up a Pistachio Festival and a Forêt Noire to take home.

They packed it neatly in a cooler bag and even threw in an ice pack, so it was easy to carry around. Walking out with such a nicely packaged dessert almost made me feel like I was the one receiving a gift.

How the Forêt Noire and Pistachio Festival taste

The rich, dense Forêt Noire is a chocolate cake made with dark chocolate — you really get that deep chocolate flavor and full sweetness.

The Pistachio Festival, with its nutty, subtly sweet pistachio flavor, is a must-try for anyone who loves dupjjonku (thick, chewy cookies) — the soft, moist cake melted smoothly in my mouth and everything came together beautifully.

I went back to this Seongsu dessert favorite because of how much I enjoyed it last time, and once again, I was satisfied. Next time I'm out in Seongsu craving something sweet, I'll definitely stop by Notldun again. Thanks for the delicious food today.
