Aemak-gol sushi restaurant open through lunch, Chuncheon: Raon Sushi
In short
Raon Sushi is a sushi and Japanese restaurant in the Aemak-gol food alley in Chuncheon, Gangwon, near the CU convenience store. Raon Sushi opens 11:30 to 21:30 with no break time, so lunch visits are easy, and the writer ordered one combo platter plus several à la carte sushi pieces, tonkotsu ramen and udon. The sushi looked glossy and fresh, with the soy-marinated shrimp, egg and salmon pieces the most memorable.

Hi, this is Truth Mouth Fitpot :-D Today I visited Raon Sushi, a great Chuncheon restaurant to hit up when you're craving sushi in the Aemak-gol area! It's not just about sushi either — pork cutlets, rice bowls, ramen, even hot pot, so it's a good spot for groups with different tastes. There's no break time and delivery/takeout are both available, so it's easy to eat here whenever, wherever ><
I'll walk you through parking, the menu, delivery, and my honest review with photos! Let's go!♬♪∞
How to find Raon Sushi in Aemak-gol, and where to park
Raon Sushi is located near a CU convenience store in the middle of Chuncheon's Aemak-gol food alley! There are lots of bars, restaurants, and cafés nearby, so it's easy to get around.

For parking, you can use alley parking or a public parking lot.
Lunch with no break time: first impressions of Raon Sushi
The sign has huge, eye-catching lettering so Raon Sushi was very easy to find! The exterior has that no-frills, tough-guy style.

I'd only ever come to Aemak-gol for late-night drinks before, but Raon Sushi does lunch business too and has no break time, so it seemed great for lunch as well!
Inside Raon Sushi: atmosphere and group tables
Walking into Raon Sushi, the atmosphere is cozy and comfortable.

Overall the interior and lighting are on the dim side, so it seems like a good vibe for pairing sushi with a drink! You can get good-quality bar snacks at a reasonable price, so I highly recommend it haha. Because of closing time, it has to be your first stop of the night, but that's fine — there are plenty of places nearby for a second or third round!

There's separate group seating with partitions too, so there's a somewhat private space to enjoy. It seems like a good spot for family gatherings or friend meetups. The restrooms are separated for men and women, inside the restaurant!
Does Raon Sushi do delivery and takeout?

Raon Sushi is known as a delivery hotspot on Baemin, Coupang Eats, and more! The ratings are high and a lot of people order delivery. Actually my mom orders from here often too, so I've had it a few times at my parents' house!!! haha

Takeout is available too, of course, but the menu board is different! You just pick from this one for takeout.
Raon Sushi menu and prices

There are quite a lot of sushi set options! From the value sushi set at ₩13,000 to the Raon sushi set at ₩26,000, the price range and composition are varied, so there's a wide range to choose from — that's a plus!

Of course you can also order à la carte. From fried tofu sushi at ₩1,200 to akami (tuna) at ₩3,500! Since it's priced per piece, ordering a set is much more cost-effective, but if you have your heart set on something specific like I did, it can't be helped, right?

Besides sushi, there's also pork cutlet, rice bowls, ramen, fried dishes, hot pot, and even tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) — really a wide range of menu items, perfect for visiting with friends who have different tastes!!

For drinks, there's soju and beer of course, and a particularly wide range of sake — if you have a sake in mind, chances are they'll have it haha.
How the food tasted: combo platter, single sushi pieces and tonkotsu ramen

The basic cabbage salad side dish had crunchy cabbage with a tangy, salty soy-based dressing! It was already appetizing to begin with, but this really got my appetite going.

We ordered one combo set plus several à la carte pieces to share, and I think that was a good call haha. It balances value for money while letting everyone eat what they want.
The sushi lived up to its reputation — glossy and shiny, great quality! I especially recommend the soy sauce shrimp, egg sushi, and salmon sushi.
+ We also added udon and ordered tonkotsu ramen, and I thought I was going to burst? The ramen came in a pretty generous, well-put-together portion. Still, the noodles were thin so it went down without feeling too heavy. The broth was clean too, with no pork smell at all!
Lastly, the owner gave us cookies on the house, so we finished things off nicely!
