Looking for somewhere to eat out with the family on the weekend, we headed to QooQoo, one of the go-to spots when people search for a Chuncheon sushi restaurant. Sometimes it's nice to let everyone pick their own food at an all-you-can-eat buffet.

My son is obsessed with buffets in general, so he was thrilled the moment I said we were going to QooQoo. Seeing him this happy naturally makes us reach for all-you-can-eat buffets more often too.

The first thing that caught my eye at QooQoo Chuncheon Branch was, of course, the seafood. I don't fill my plate right away — I always do a lap around the food stations first. There was just so much I wanted to eat. Only after a full loop did I decide what to actually get.

There's an octopus dish cut into bite-sized pieces — the chewy texture was great, and with sesame seeds sprinkled on top, it was easy to keep popping one after another. I also loaded up on soy sauce shrimp from the start; the shrimp were plump and the soy sauce marinade came with lemon and chili, so it looked incredible and tasted even better.

I was completely hooked on the nurungji kkwabaegi at QooQoo Chuncheon Branch — the seasoning and the scorched rice (nurungji) stuck to the outside were about as close to perfect as it gets. I lost count of how many times I went back for more. It was so nutty and savory that I'm still thinking about it, and I was genuinely sad my stomach filled up before I could eat more. I think I need to go back just for this.

My son wanted to try jjamppong, so we ordered it, but it turned out fairly spicy and I ended up eating most of it. The broth was hot and refreshing, which felt like a nice reset in the middle of the meal.

I was craving fish cake broth so I also ordered udon — it's great that everyone can order whatever they're craving and get as much as they want, even if tastes differ.

My son ended up more obsessed with dessert than anything else at this Chuncheon sushi restaurant. With that many ice cream options lined up, of course he went wild.

Is it just me, or does he always look more excited standing in front of the dessert corner than at the actual table? He scooped ice cream, topped it with those little ice cream pearls, and kept mixing and matching. That day, QooQoo was basically heaven for him — so much good food, plus all the dessert he wanted, he looked happy from the moment we walked in to the moment we left.

How the kids' café inside QooQoo makes the meal easier

Once he was full, off he went to the kids' café! Having a kids' café inside QooQoo was great for us since we brought our child along. Kids usually want to leave the second they're full, but thanks to the kids' café, we got to eat at a relaxed pace. If you're dining out with kids, having a kids' café on site is a real plus.

Fruit desserts at QooQoo: passion fruit and mango

I made sure to properly finish with the fruit dessert too. Even full, you can't just walk past the dessert corner. There were several kinds of fruit available, and that day I loaded up on mango, dragon fruit, and grapefruit — fruits that are hard to have all at once at home.

The passion fruit was especially delicious. It had been a while since I'd had it, and it was so sweet and tangy that I kept scooping it out with my spoon.

My son was thrilled with the huge chocolate fondue. Watching the chocolate keep flowing down was fun just to look at. Dipping marshmallows in it was delicious — we each tried one, and it was genuinely so sweet.

The drink corner had everything from juice to slushies, soda, a coffee machine, and tea, so we could each finish off however we liked.

Right up until we left, I kept going back for mango and passion fruit — I could eat it endlessly and it was still delicious.
