Where do you park at Jeongseong Katsu Toegye Branch?
For parking at Jeongseong Katsu Chuncheon Toegye Branch, just use the free basement parking at the rear of the store. If you're driving, entering 10-8 Toegye-ro 93beon-gil, Chuncheon-si into your navigation should work, but the built-in Kia navigation gave us the wrong location, so we switched to Naver Map instead. Just a heads-up^^
The basement parking is free, but the entrance/exit ramp is narrow, so it's best to drive slowly. When we visited, there were open spots downstairs so parking wasn't difficult. After parking, we took the elevator up to the first floor.
Inside Jeongseong Katsu Toegye Branch: seating and kid amenities
Opening the door, you're greeted by a clean space in white and wood tones. The tables aren't cramped, and the restaurant is fairly spacious, with room for anywhere from 2 to 4-plus people.

The very clean, warm atmosphere of Jeongseong Katsu was enough to build up expectations that the food would be delicious too.

Jeongseong mixed katsu set, 13,900 won: loin, tenderloin and shrimp

First up, the mixed katsu set we'd been most looking forward to. It came all at once on a big wooden tray — tonkatsu, fried shrimp, rice, soup, curry, cabbage salad, sauce, and side dishes. Laid out like a full table setting, it looked really generous.

It's the loin + fillet + shrimp combo, Jeongseong Katsu's most popular menu item. The fried items were placed on a wire rack so they'd stay crispy, which I appreciated.
When I pressed a fork in, I heard a crisp "crunch" and it went in smoothly.
The cut is really substantial. You'd worry that something this thick might be tough, but it was genuinely tender.
The soft, mild meat went well with everything — salt, wasabi, sauce, and curry alike.
The plump shrimp was also fried really well.
Eating only tonkatsu the whole time can get a bit monotonous, but tossing in a piece of fried shrimp changes things up nicely. My kid ate the body and, as always, mom got the head and tail. I guess the little one will grow up someday and learn to appreciate the taste of shrimp heads and tails too, haha.

If you're visiting with a kid, I really want to recommend the fillet katsu. True to being fillet, it was very tender, with juicy meat that melted away in the mouth almost instantly.

It went well with wasabi, salt, and curry alike, and for me salt was the tastiest. The coating stayed crispy the whole way through, and the meat stayed tender even after it cooled.
Pork katsu curry rice, 10,500 won, with a free rice refill for the kid
Jeongseong Katsu's pork katsu curry rice is ₩10,500, and I'd recommend it if you like curry. My older kid isn't a huge tonkatsu fan but loves curry, so this is the dish they picked.

The whole plate is generously covered in curry sauce, with multigrain rice, a fried egg, and tonkatsu on top in the center.
You can tell how crispy the coating is even just from the photo, right?
And the key detail: garlic chips! There's a really generous amount of garlic chips piled on top of the curry. You can dunk a piece of tonkatsu right into the curry sauce and mix everything together with the rice and egg — it's a great dish to recommend for kids with a good appetite.

Soaking the tonkatsu and rice in the curry until soft made for a really delicious bite.

In the end, my kid asked for a whole extra bowl of rice.

It wasn't just plain white rice either — it was black rice, which I think made it even tastier.
Chicken karaage 6 pieces, 4,500 won: a juicy side worth ordering

We also ordered chicken karaage as a side.

Karaage tends to taste more or less the same everywhere, so I wasn't expecting much... but one bite in, it was just as tender as the fillet katsu I'd had earlier, with a lot of juicy flavor running out — honestly better than the fried chicken at plenty of dedicated chicken places. The kids really tore through this one.

Eating it together with the pickles that came with the mixed katsu set, we managed to finish every last piece of the karaage.
Chilled soba, 7,900 won, with noodles and broth served separately

It wouldn't feel right to eat tonkatsu without chilled soba, would it? At Jeongseong Katsu, the noodles and broth are served separately.
The broth has ice melted into it like a slush, looking refreshing just to see.
The noodles are topped with seaweed flakes and sesame seeds, and green onion, wasabi, and grated radish are served on the side.
You dip the noodles a little into the broth as you eat, adding grated radish and green onion along the way to adjust it to your taste. It tasted every bit as good as it looked. Even though we were already pretty full, this is one dish you can't leave unfinished.
Taking a bite of cold soba in between the fried dishes like tonkatsu — that's a combo you don't want to miss.
Is Jeongseong Katsu Toegye Branch worth it? Final verdict

When we first walked in, there were delivery orders sitting on a table. Delivery orders kept coming in throughout our meal, which really drove home that this is a proven, well-loved tonkatsu spot in Chuncheon.

Jeongseong Katsu Chuncheon Toegye Branch isn't limited to just tonkatsu — there's yangsik-style tonkatsu, udon, pasta, gyudon, and a range of sides to choose from too. True to the restaurant's name, every dish felt like it had real care put into it, the space was clean, and the staff were all kind, so there's no reason not to become a regular^^ It was a truly delicious meal!
