Yeouido IFC Mall tteokbokki on a 4-language kiosk: Hyeonseonine

In short

Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch is a bunsik (Korean snack food) restaurant on the B2 arcade linking Yeouido Station and IFC Mall in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul, right next to the GS25 convenience store. Stopping in while shopping with a friend, the writer used the entrance kiosk, which works in Korean, English, Chinese and Japanese, to order the Hyeonseoni Set (tteokbokki, fried snacks, sundae and gimbap) for 23,000 won; gimbap was sold out, so a teriyaki rice ball came instead. The Hyeonseoni Set is sized just right for two to share and suits anyone who wants a little of everything.

A full spread of the Hyeonseoni Set at Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch

My friend and I were browsing IFC Mall and looking for a good tteokbokki (spicy rice cake) place in Yeouido. This time we went to Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch, a spot known as one of the best in the neighborhood. We stopped by while shopping and ended up having a full-on bunsik (Korean snack food) feast with the Hyeonseoni Set.

How to get to Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch, and parking

📍 Address 10 Gukjegeumyung-ro, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, IFC Mall B2 🕖 Hours Weekdays 11:00–21:00, weekends 12:00–21:00 (last order 20:40) ※ I'd recommend double-checking the day's hours before you visit. 🅿️ Parking You can use IFC Mall Parking Lot 1 or Lot 2. It's probably safest to also check IFC Mall's parking guide.

Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch is on the B2 arcade level of IFC Mall, right next to the GS25 convenience store, so if you take the underground route connecting Yeouido Station to IFC Mall, it's not hard to find. It's also fairly close to The Hyundai Seoul, so I heard a lot of people looking for good food near The Hyundai end up wandering over to the IFC Mall side too.

Seating and atmosphere inside Hyeonseonine Premium

Even from outside, the place had that familiar, cozy bunsik-restaurant vibe. Being tucked inside the underground passage connecting IFC Mall and Yeouido Station made it an easy, casual stop. Inside there are tables for two and four, and the spacing between them felt generous enough to sit comfortably. Each table also had an induction burner set up for instant tteokbokki, which looked great for eating it piping hot. There's seating both inside and outside the store, so you can pick a spot depending on the situation.

Ordering at the four-language kiosk and the Hyeonseoni Set price

Ordering was done through the kiosk at the entrance, which supports Korean, English, Chinese, and Japanese — handy if foreign visitors stop by. Here's what I ordered: ✔️ Hyeonseoni Set (tteokbokki + fried snacks + sundae + gimbap) ₩23,000 ☑️ Total: ₩23,000 They were out of gimbap, so a rice ball came instead.

The self-service corner

Water, cups, utensils, and pickled radish were all self-serve, so I could grab as much as I needed at my own pace.

What comes in the Hyeonseoni Set?

The Hyeonseoni Set with tteokbokki, fried snacks, and sundae

The Hyeonseoni Set brought tteokbokki, fried snacks, sundae (Korean blood sausage), and gimbap all together on one tray. Being able to taste a bit of everything in one order made things easy — no need to agonize over the menu. It was also the perfect amount to split between two friends, great for when you want to try a variety.

Tteokbokki (rice cakes in chili sauce)

Sauce-coated tteokbokki from Hyeonseonine

Living up to its reputation as a go-to for Yeouido tteokbokki, the rice cakes were chewy with sauce coating them evenly throughout. It had that spicy-sweet flavor that keeps you reaching for more. The broth had a nice body to it rather than being watery, which paired well with the rice cakes. You can choose between mild, medium, or spicy, so it's nice being able to adjust to your own taste!

Sundae (blood sausage, with liver and offal)

A plate of sundae with liver and other organs

Sundae was great to alternate with the tteokbokki. Eating it together with the tteokbokki's spicy-sweet sauce worked really well, and dipping it lightly in the broth let me enjoy the classic bunsik flavor in even more ways.

Fried snacks: sweet potato, vegetable, mandu, squid and kimmari

Fried snacks dipped in tteokbokki broth

The assorted fried snacks were all about that crunch. Dipping them in the tteokbokki broth created a great contrast between the spicy-sweet sauce and the savory fried flavor. They were delicious eaten crisp on their own or dipped in the broth — good either way.

Teriyaki rice ball instead of gimbap

The rice ball was easy to pair with the spicy tteokbokki. With teriyaki sauce mixed in, it was sweet and salty, and eating it in between bites of tteokbokki instead of just tteokbokki nonstop kept things from getting overwhelming, so I enjoyed the whole meal to the end.

The broth

The broth was refreshing, which was nice for cleanly resetting my palate midway through.

Who is the Hyeonseoni Set best for?

To sum it all up:

  • Tteokbokki: chewy and spicy-sweet
  • Sundae: pairs well with the tteokbokki sauce
  • Fried snacks: crispy, great dipped in broth
  • Gimbap: easy to enjoy in bite-sized pieces
  • Good access from Yeouido Station, IFC Mall, and The Hyundai Seoul

So this is a place I'd recommend for lunch near IFC Mall in Yeouido. It might especially suit these people:

  • Those who want to sample a variety of menu items at once
  • Fans of spicy-sweet tteokbokki
  • Anyone shopping at IFC Mall who wants a quick, simple meal
  • Anyone looking for a set that's good to share with a friend

If you're near Yeouido Station or IFC Mall craving bunsik, Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch is worth a visit. It suits both a good-food stop near The Hyundai and a classic Yeouido meal, so next time I'd love to try the instant tteokbokki or one of the rice bowl dishes too.
