Musil-dong Wonju Japanese restaurant with gyukatsu set 2: Ichigyu

Hope everyone had a good weekend~?! haha I went to Pyeongchang this weekend! On the way there I stopped in Wonju for an overnight stay, and it turns out there's a gyukatsu restaurant in Musil-dong, Wonju! So I hurried over to check it out! Here's the location~!

Where is Ichigyu Wonju, and is there parking?

Ichigyu Wonju is located on the first floor of the Lotte Cinema building in Musil-dong, Wonju! Parking is free for 2 hours, so I drove there myself~! The parking lot was pretty spacious, so there was plenty of room! haha

Opening hours and the weekend wait

Business hours were 11 AM to 9:30 PM! Break time was 3 PM to 5 PM! Last order times are 2:30 PM / 8:30 PM, so keep that in mind! haha

Since it's such a popular restaurant, there was a waiting list in front when I arrived! You write your name on the list and wait, and the staff calls you in order! haha I visited on the weekend, and on Saturday I think I waited about 10 minutes? There were about 5 parties ahead of me, but the turnover was really fast!! haha The staff guided everyone so kindly, which was really nice! haha

While waiting, they let you browse the menu~! haha What I found really thoughtful was that they had drinks ready for waiting guests haha What a considerate restaurant, I thought haha

Inside the restaurant and the seating

Here's the interior!! The clean wood-toned interior really stood out haha There were various seating options from 2-person to 4-person tables! haha The place is so pretty it seemed perfect for a date! And a lot of families come too! haha Seemed like a good idea to catch a movie at Lotte Cinema first and then come here! haha

Set menu 2, ordered for two

Here's the menu!! From gyukatsu to steak set meals, hamburg omurice, steak-don and more! There were so many different menu items~! haha Since I came with two people, I was really happy they had a set menu! haha After deliberating over what to order, I went with set menu 2 and karaage & fried shrimp! haha It was great that it included gyukatsu (striploin), hamburg omurice, and two drinks! haha

There's also a receipt review event, so keep that in mind! haha They had a baby chair too, so it looked good for coming with kids! haha

The drinks came out first! haha After all, cola is the foundation, right~?! haha So I had a glass of cola haha

They also lit the burner for grilling the gyukatsu! It just felt so grand and glowing~! haha

The rice that comes with the gyukatsu order! haha Interestingly, they serve the rice separately! It was fluffy and glossy with shine ~ haha Also, if you run out of rice, refills are available! haha

How was the striploin gyukatsu?

The gyukatsu has arrived!!! haha I love that it comes as a full spread!? haha

Miso soup, salad, and all kinds of sauces!! haha The gyukatsu looked so glowing haha

First they add the butter that comes with the gyukatsu haha

When you grill the gyukatsu and take a bite~! Wow... the outside was crispy while the striploin inside was so tender! It was seriously delicious! You could taste the buttery aroma along with it~ it just melted in my mouth haha The salt and wasabi combo was clean and delicious too! With steak sauce it's sweet and delicious! And the chili sauce also went really well with it?! haha So interesting!

The hamburg omurice

Next up, the hamburg omurice~! haha The hamburg omurice also comes as a full spread, along with salad and miso soup haha

When you cut into the egg on the hamburg omurice! haha The fluffy egg really catches your eye haha

Pour the sauce over the omurice and take a bite! haha Wow... the tomato sauce flavor blends with the omurice! The soft omurice combined with the hamburg steak and rice! It maximizes the savory, soft taste! haha

Karaage and fried shrimp

Next up came the karaage & fried shrimp~! haha Doesn't it look glowing~! haha

I tried the fried shrimp and karaage! haha Wow... totally crispy and so delicious!! haha Especially the fried shrimp, it was really thick but tender! It just melted in my mouth haha The karaage also had that totally delicious fried chicken feel! We came by car so sadly couldn't have beer, but this would be the perfect drinking snack haha

Final thoughts on Ichigyu Wonju

This time I visited Ichigyu, a great restaurant in Musil-dong, Wonju! The atmosphere of the place was so nice! And the staff were really kind, which I loved! haha It's right near Lotte Cinema, so it's the perfect spot for a movie and a meal! haha A lot of people come here for dates or family gatherings! haha The food is really delicious too! If you're looking for a good restaurant in Musil-dong, Wonju, I recommend Ichigyu! haha
