Hanmaeum Jeongyuk Sikdang, a Korean BBQ spot in Wonju's Enterprise City — I ate samgyeopsal and checked out the kids' room.

I stopped by Hanmaeum Jeongyuk Sikdang, a go-to spot in Wonju's Enterprise City, after visiting Saemmaru Library and figuring I'd have dinner before heading home! I've been here a few times before, and what strikes me every time is how consistent the taste is. This time I had dinner with the 360 cross-aged samgyeopsal and also took a thorough look at the kids' room. It's a really good spot to bring kids along.

A Wonju Enterprise City BBQ spot with easy parking

Hanmaeum Jeongyuk Sikdang has two locations in Wonju — one in Innovation City and one in Enterprise City. The one I visited today is the Enterprise City branch!

The most convenient thing when you're driving: the parking lot is huge! Circling around looking for a spot before you've even gotten to the restaurant is such low-key stress, so I loved how easy parking was here. It also made it convenient to go straight from Saemmaru Library to dinner.

I visited Hanmaeum Jeongyuk Sikdang on a weekday evening. At some BBQ places, when it's crowded, you can hear the conversation at the next table over and it gets chaotic, right? Here, the space itself is so spacious that even with customers around, it didn't feel super noisy.

It's great for family visits, but I also thought it'd be perfect for a group dinner with coworkers, thanks to this spacious room area haha.

Why it works with kids: the spacious kids' room

What stands out at Hanmaeum Jeongyuk Sikdang as a family dining spot is definitely the kids' room. There's a genuinely spacious area set up just for kids to play in.

BBQ meals inevitably run long, so parents with young kids often have a lot to manage — if the kid gets bored partway through, someone has to take them out one at a time... In that sense, having a kids' room inside the restaurant felt like a real advantage! It wasn't just a tiny space tucked in a corner either — it was quite roomy, and I think families with kids would definitely notice it when choosing where to eat out. It's genuinely a great place to bring kids. Even without kids of my own, I could tell just by looking at it.

What I ordered that day: 360 cross-aged samgyeopsal 180g x 3 servings, plus two bowls of rice. Dinner really is samgyeopsal with rice.

How does the 360 cross-aged pork belly taste?

I've eaten at Hanmaeum Jeongyuk Sikdang many times, and the great thing is the pork doesn't taste much different visit to visit. Same this time! The samgyeopsal really let the meat's own savory flavor come through. So even when I'm debating trying something new, I end up ordering samgyeopsal anyway.

Why you should eat the jjolmyeon scallion salad with the meat

This scallion salad is one of my favorite things at Hanmaeum Jeongyuk Sikdang... It's not just plain shredded scallions — it comes with jjolmyeon (chewy noodles) mixed in, so my hand keeps reaching for it while eating meat. Eating a piece of samgyeopsal and then some tangy jjolmyeon scallion salad cuts through the richness and adds texture too, so it's a great combo. Personally I like this way better than just plain shredded scallions. Perfect to add in between bites of meat 🤩

Rice at 1,500 won: worth it for Suhyangmi

Rice is ₩1,500 per bowl. At first glance you think, wait, rice is ₩1,500...? haha. But the rice here uses Suhyangmi rice, so it's genuinely tasty on its own. I'm someone who always eats rice with meat, so I couldn't skip ordering it anyway. Usually rice at BBQ places just feels like an afterthought, but here the rice itself is tasty enough that it went great with the samgyeopsal.

And the finish can't be missed — yogurt ice cream! Eating samgyeopsal and then cleansing your palate with ice cream at the end wraps up the meal perfectly >_< It's not an exaggeration to say it's one of the reasons I come back to Hanmaeum Jeongyuk Sikdang 🤎
