Extra Mile, a new Gwangalli restaurant, is a pizza and pasta spot I'd been following since it popped up on Instagram announcing its opening — I'd been itching to go! It's near the Gwangalli café street, and this spot actually used to be a café itself. There's Helmet, Warm Cove, Collett's Coffee, Offre, Le Temps and other cafés right nearby, so you'll spot it easily as you walk around (perfect flow for lunch then café-hopping).

What is the interior like at Extra Mile?

Extra Mile, a great spot for a Gwangalli date, has a bright interior where warm lighting blends nicely with wood tones. It's an open kitchen, so the whole place feels wide open. There are also seats by the big windows, so if you like a bright vibe, I recommend those!

The coloring table mat you get while you wait

Once you're seated, there's paper on the table, and underneath it there's a mat with a different drawing on it — so you can color while waiting for your food after ordering. It actually passes the time nicely and feels like a fresh touch! (If you're going with a kid, this is perfect for keeping them busy while you eat~)

• Pizza: ordered half hot honey pepperoni, half birria taco
• Pasta: white ragu

I went in with high expectations since it's known as a pizza restaurant — there aren't that many pizza types, but they were fresh, original options!

Hot honey pepperoni pizza

The hot pepperoni is totally my style! It could easily be a greasy pizza, but the jalapeños on top make it spicy while the cheese keeps it savory — a well-balanced pizza, you could say?!

Birria taco pizza

I ordered the birria taco for my boyfriend, who loves tacos. It's loaded with meat inside, topped with crushed taco pieces, and finished off with a heap of cilantro on top — a really exotic pizza I'd never seen before. **The cilantro might be divisive, but if you like taco and cilantro, I highly recommend it^^

White ragu pasta

The white ragu pasta wasn't bad. It's a tasty pasta without any particular standout points? Next time I'll try a different pasta — since the pizzas had such a strong impact, this one felt a bit plain by comparison.
