Gongdeok café weekend financiers before sellout: Fluffy Bake Shop
In short
Fluffy Bake Shop is a baked-goods dessert café near Gongdeok Station in Mapo, Seoul. Visiting at 3:30pm on a Saturday, the salt bread and madeleines were already sold out, but six financier flavors — vanilla, chocolate, gamtae (sea tangle), Nunettine, apple churros, and melon — were still left and packed into a 6-piece box. The melon financier was a life-changing dessert, so the verdict is simple: go early on weekends before the case empties out.

I was near Gongdeok Station on the weekend when a dessert shop I'd bookmarked ages ago suddenly popped into my head 😋 It's Fluffy Bake Shop, the place everyone raves about as the best baked-goods spot near Gongdeok Station ✨ It's so hyped among dessert lovers that I went in with high expectations haha.

The exterior of this Gongdeok Station dessert café

It's tucked into the first floor of a commercial building, but the exterior already had such a warm, aesthetic mood that I couldn't wait to go in!

There was this cute little standing sign waiting out front 🥹
A cozy, charming interior

Stepping inside Fluffy Bake Shop, the wood tones and white walls blended together for a really warm, snug mood 🌿

The owner's stylish interior sense showed up everywhere, and it kept me in a good mood the whole time!

Further inside there was also a cozy little spot set up where you can sit comfortably and enjoy your dessert 👍
3:30pm on a Saturday, and the case was already sold out

I visited around 3:30pm on a Saturday 😂 Since the shop closes at 4:30pm on weekends, the display case was already pretty much empty 😭

I never even got to see the salt bread and madeleines I originally wanted, since they were completely sold out — so disappointing! Luckily a few financiers were still left, so I decided to grab whatever remained 🥰
Lunchbox boxes and a 6-piece box perfect for gifting

Basic paper bag packaging is available, but for an extra fee you can get a pretty box instead 🎁

4 pieces go into a cute lunchbox-style box, while 6 and 12 pieces get their own dedicated boxes! Since I picked 6, I asked for the box packaging!
You can order drinks here too

It's not just baked goods — you can order drinks as well, so you can enjoy your dessert with a drink right there in the café! I thought that was such a nice touch haha.
Ranking the 6 financier flavors — melon is my top pick

The ones I brought home were vanilla, chocolate, gamtae (sea tangle), Nunettine, apple churros, and melon — six in total 😍 Seeing them lined up neatly already felt like a sugar rush before I even took a bite!

The first one I tried was the vanilla financier, and true to its reputation as the shop's best menu item, it was studded with vanilla bean flecks for a really deep, luxurious flavor! ✨ And that gamtae financier apparently even appeared on the TV show Amazing Saturday! 👀

But my absolute top pick — the one that became a life-changing dessert — was this melon financier 😭 It's genuinely the best melon dessert I've ever had, and one bite was all it took to fall completely in love!

It was even better than the famous melon bread I had in Japan, to the point I wanted to come back and buy 6 of just the melon flavor next time! My ranking, from most to least delicious, was: melon > apple churros > Nunettine > chocolate > gamtae > vanilla haha.

I stumbled in by chance and ended up discovering my life-changing melon financier — such a happy weekend 🥰 Next time I'm near Gongdeok Station, I'm definitely going early so I can finally stock up on the salt bread and madeleines that sold out this time!
