If you asked me where to find small everyday happiness these days, I'd say without hesitation: tea time with good dessert! I recently met a friend who works around Gongdeok, and she told me there's a place near Gongdeok Station that's genuinely famous for its baked pastries — so of course I went.

That place is Fluffy Bake Shop, which bakes everything fresh every morning with premium French butter! Every single dessert was better than expected in quality and flavor — I've officially added this to my list of all-time favorite dessert cafés!

Where is Fluffy Bake Shop, and what is the shop like?
Fluffy Bake Shop sits at 8 Baekbeom-ro 31-gil, Mapo-gu, Seoul, near Gongdeok Station, so getting there by public transit was really easy. It's an easy walk, and everything is baked in-store daily using French AOP Lescure butter.
The moment I stepped inside, the whole shop was filled with a rich, luxurious buttery smell that made my mouth water instantly! The cute, cozy, stylish interior made it a perfect Gongdeok date spot — great for a quiet moment with a partner or for chatting over dessert with a close friend.

It was genuinely fun just browsing the dozens of neatly arranged pastries in the showcase. Every kind of madeleine and financier, plus canelés, and even today's hottest items — salt bread and tarts — were all perfectly stocked 🤍

Why Fluffy Bake Shop bakes with AOP Lescure butter
The biggest reason dessert lovers call Fluffy Bake Shop a Gongdeok-area must-visit is its strict commitment to ingredients!

They bake generously with AOP Lescure butter, certified as France's top grade. There's none of that heavy, greasy aftertaste — instead, a smooth nuttiness and deep richness spread across the palate, giving that authentic French bakery flavor.

Showcase lineup and prices at Fluffy Bake Shop
Before I get to the tray, let me first walk you through Fluffy Bake Shop's incredible dessert lineup, which honestly gave me decision paralysis! It was a treat just to look at.
Financier heaven: fig and almond
Rows of golden-brown financiers lined up in the case were a happiness-inducing sight! From plain, to the fig financier with its irresistible bursting texture, to the almond financier bursting with nuttiness, to the sweet Valrhona chocolate financier — the range was incredible.
What especially stood out was the gamtae (sea mustard) financier (₩3,600) — the sweet-and-salty balance looked really appealing. The apple churros financier (₩3,700) also smelled beautifully of cinnamon and looked delicious.

Plump little madeleines in the showcase
The madeleines, with their cute little belly bumps, caught my eye too. The deep, glossy black sesame madeleine (₩3,600) looked nutty just from the shine, while the clean vanilla madeleine (₩3,600) and the classic plain madeleine (₩3,600) are always a safe bet!
The crispiest thing here: Fluffy Bake Shop's egg tart
On one side, golden egg tarts with visible pastry layers were fresh out of the oven, looking properly crisp and moist.

How I chose the 6-piece madeleine gift set
After a long deliberation in front of so many options, I put together a 6-piece gift set of the ones I most wanted to try and that looked prettiest — like a little gift to myself.

A tray full of colorful, picture-perfect desserts — doesn't it look gorgeous even just in photos? Let me share my honest thoughts on each one!

Melon madeleine: the prettiest of the six
The cute lattice pattern shaped like a melon-bread crust already won me over! One bite released a subtle, fragrant melon flavor that blended beautifully with the soft madeleine texture — pleasantly sweet without being too much. This one paired especially well with coffee thanks to its refined, not-too-sweet flavor.
Black sesame madeleine: deeply nutty
Coated generously in a rich, nutty black sesame glaze, this one instantly won over my inner grandma-taste! The deep, heavy nuttiness of black sesame blended smoothly with the AOP butter for real depth of flavor. I'd strongly recommend this for gifts to elders.

S'more madeleine: the sweetest pick
With marshmallow and chocolate topping piled onto a plump madeleine, this one was fun to look at too! The moist madeleine paired with sweet, chewy marshmallow was pure happiness with an Americano during that afternoon sugar slump.
Pecan crumble madeleine: the best texture
Loaded generously with crisp, nutty streusel crumble and pecans, the texture here was outstanding! Underneath the topping, the soft, chewy madeleine batter made for a perfect combo — an absolute must-pick for anyone who loves nutty desserts.

Almond madeleine: nutty through and through
Piled high with almond slices and baked golden brown, this one won on looks alone! The crunchy almond nuttiness and moist madeleine texture combined to deliver a real burst of flavor with every bite.

Crumble financier: crisp outside, chewy inside
This one really nailed the signature financier texture — crispy outside, chewy inside! The almond and sweet, nutty topping on top gave a delightful crumbling crunch with every bite. This would also make a great snack for kids.
