Hanwoo sirloin steak and uni pasta at OSA Hannam izakaya, Seoul

In short

OSA Hannam is a garden-set robata dining izakaya in Hannam-dong, Yongsan, Seoul. On a Sunday evening on the ground floor terrace, the writer ordered the 1++ hanwoo sirloin steak (₩58,000) and uni butter garlic pasta (₩35,000), waiting nearly 30 minutes but getting through it thanks to the free sweet potato chips and the atmosphere. OSA Hannam has easy valet parking and a huge menu range, making it a great Hannam-dong date spot — though next time the truffle hanwoo sirloin jjapaguri is the pick.

I'll cover the reservation and valet parking tips I picked up firsthand, an honest review of the 1++ hanwoo sirloin steak and uni pasta, and the 'true bang-for-your-buck menu' tip I realized after the visit!!!

Exterior, interior, and the glass-walled terrace rooms

Even on a Sunday evening, the place was absolutely packed! Most people seemed to have reservations. I wondered if I could get in a bit early, but they seat you exactly on time after clearing the previous reservation slot, so I'd recommend arriving right at your reservation time!

OSA Hannam terrace seating and glass-walled rooms

The ground floor has a spacious, atmospheric hall along with terrace seating. What especially caught my eye on the terrace were two glass-walled rooms that felt private-ish but not quite haha. The 2nd floor operates as private rooms, so if you're coming for a blind date or a gathering, I'd recommend booking a room too (minimum spend and room charge apply separately)!

What's on the menu?

Looking at the menu was genuinely surprising — from simple appetizers to seasonal sashimi/sushi, robatayaki, fried and braised dishes, meal items (pasta and hot pot rice), hot pots, and even desserts! It was such an insane range that I thought 'wait, they do ALL this at one restaurant?' — a real Hannam-dong izakaya haha.

OSA Hannam wine, sake, and whiskey drinks menu

The drinks menu is also diverse — wine, sake, whiskey, and more — and corkage is available too (₩60,000 per bottle for wine/sake, ₩120,000 for whiskey), just FYI!

The food: sweet potato chips, hanwoo sirloin steak, uni pasta

Once you order, you get crispy sugar-dusted sweet potato chips as a free starter — and honestly, these are a real treat haha. But seriously, it would've been a disaster if these hadn't come out... The food took almost 30 minutes to arrive that day, maybe because orders were backed up. If it weren't for the sweet potato chips, I might've died of anticipation waiting haha.

Hanwoo sirloin steak (₩58,000)

My companion was craving meat, so we ordered the hanwoo sirloin steak (₩58,000)! Honestly, to me and my big-eater companion, the portion looked slightly small haha. But hey, this isn't just any hanwoo — it's '1++ hanwoo sirloin'!!

Cross-section of the 1++ hanwoo sirloin steak
A well-cooked bite of hanwoo sirloin steak

It was cooked just right and tasted good, and it was great to enjoy purely for the vibe too!! A steak in a great-atmosphere Hannam-dong terrace dining spot tastes like success haha.

Bonus: the truffle hanwoo sirloin jjapaguri is actually the real deal

Looking at reviews after my visit, the 'truffle hanwoo sirloin jjapaguri (black bean noodles, ₩39,000)' is apparently super popular?! The steak portion on top is generous, and it comes with a truffle-scented jjapaguri plus tasty pa-kimchi (green onion kimchi)!!! Talking about value in Hannam-dong is kind of funny haha, but the truffle hanwoo jjapaguri really is the ultimate value-for-money menu item haha. I'm usually pretty deliberate about my choices, but my pick that day was a bit of a letdown (should've gotten the jjapaguri!! haha) — if you're going, definitely try the hanwoo jjapaguri!!!

Uni butter garlic pasta at OSA Hannam

Uni butter garlic pasta (₩35,000)

After going back and forth, I picked something I hadn't tried elsewhere — the uni butter garlic pasta (₩35,000)! Deep, rich butter garlic-flavored pasta topped with nutty uni (sea urchin) — a visual win right off the bat!!

Uni pasta mixed and served with garlic scapes

Mixing the uni all through and taking a bite with the garlic scapes, it was savory and salty with a nutty richness, and the crunchy garlic scapes made it perfect to pair with wine or sake — exactly right for a Hannam-dong bar!!!

Who should visit OSA Hannam

My menu choices weren't perfect!!! (The steak was good too, but the jjapaguri is such a steal haha) Still, the atmosphere was so good that I had a great meal overall!!

  • Unbeatable terrace vibe: with this cool weather, visiting as a Hannam-dong date spot means the atmosphere does all the work!
  • Convenient parking: a valet booth right in front makes driving there very easy!
  • Wide-ranging kappo menu: from sashimi to 1++ hanwoo to pasta, the options are broad!
  • Visiting tip: serving can take a while, so it's best for people who want to relax and chat & next time, definitely try the truffle hanwoo jjapaguri!
