Lots of tables, plus terrace seating that gives it a nice outdoor-dining vibe! The weather's great right now so go check it out haha.

What side dishes come free at Dokbul Janggun?
The standard sides at Dokbul Janggun Ilsan Baekseok Branch come loaded — white kimchi, hairtail fish sauce, shredded scallions and more. Refreshing white kimchi~~~~ homemade, and absolutely delicious!

Sides come out in generous portions too. Meat really is better with lots of side dishes to go with it haha.
Especially this hairtail fish sauce with a spicy kick — perfect match with the meat!!! So good!!!!

They put the kimchi and garlic on the grill for you~~~
Cheonggukjang (fermented soybean stew) comes free as part of the standard service too!
It's really hot so be careful lol.

It's included for free but it's packed with ingredients lol. Several big chunks of tofu in there too — ate it all happily bbb.

Cheese egg custard for 5,000 won, puffed high above the bowl

As an egg custard lover, I ordered the cheese egg custard the moment I spotted it!!! Wow the custard is puffed up so high lol.
About to spill over the sides lol.
Scoop up a big bite~~~~~~ The custard is super fluffy and soft, and the combo with the cheese on top is amazing!!!
A somaek (soju-beer mix) is a must too ^^

Ogyeopsal 180g for 18,000 won and bolhangjeong 180g for 17,000 won

Loved that you can order single portions! I ordered the pork belly and the cheek-neck cut.

Grilling it up deliciously~~~

The pork belly is thick, really thick lol. Cut into nice bite-sized pieces~~~

What cut of pork is bolhangjeong?
Starting with the cheek-neck cut, nom nom~~~ The cheek-neck cut is a specialty piece made by rolling pork cheek meat together with double neck meat. Apparently the deep flavor of the cheek meat and the savory fattiness of the neck meat come together in one bite, so you get to enjoy two different textures and flavors in balance.
First bite dipped in salt, nom nom. Wow, just like the description, the fat and lean meat are so well balanced — soft, chewy, and delicious!

Nom nom with pickled peppers and wasabi too~~~ Eating it this way cuts through the richness and adds even more flavor!

Nom nom with shredded scallions too!

Ugh, this hairtail fish sauce is seriously so good bbb

How the thick ogyeopsal skin tastes off the grill
The skin is the highlight of pork belly!!! Crispy and chewy.
Simply topped with salt and wasabi, nom nom. Yep, the texture of pork belly is a work of art, ahhh.

Eating it with shredded scallions and grilled kimchi~~~
And wrapping it up nicely in lettuce too haha.

Is Dokbul Janggun in Goyang worth a visit?
With the side dishes and drinks, the meat disappears fast lol. Tried a wide variety and enjoyed a really generous meal bbb.
