Goyang Chinese restaurant for rice noodle jjamppong: Jjamppong Jijeon
In short
Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch is a Chinese restaurant with halls on both the first and second floors, at 424 Seooreung-ro in Goyang, Gyeonggi. On a repeat visit, three diners shared rice noodle jjamppong (spicy noodle soup) at hell level 1, shrimp fried rice, a small sticky-rice tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) ordered with the sauce on the side, and a taster plate of fried mandu (dumplings). The tangsuyuk stayed crisp to the last piece, and hell level 1 was mild enough for someone who struggles with buldak.

I had such a good meal at Jjamppong Jijeon, a restaurant near Seooreung, last time that I wanted to try more of the menu — so I went back to Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch :) I was looking for somewhere to eat near Seooreung when I found it, and the place turned out to be bigger and roomier than I expected, which made me think it'd be great for group meals too. When you're eating with a lot of people, having space to sit comfortably matters just as much as the food being good. The tables weren't cramped at all, so it was easy to eat at a relaxed pace. Today I'll share my notes on Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch for anyone looking for a good restaurant near Seooreung :)

Two floors of seating: does Jjamppong Jijeon work for group meals?
Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch has seating on both the first and second floors, so it works well for larger groups too. The first thing I noticed walking in was how spacious and comfortable it felt. Space really matters for group dining, and the tables here had plenty of room between them — no cramped, elbow-to-elbow feeling at all.

This Seooreung restaurant even has drinks and coffee ready for after your meal. A spacious dining room, plenty of parking, a self-serve bar, and dessert on top — Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch really delivers great value 😊

What's on the self-serve bar at Jjamppong Jijeon
The self-serve bar at Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch has free bean sprouts, danmuji, kkakdugi, and even rice. You can help yourself to as much as you want, which makes for a filling meal and adds to the overall value 😊

The menu board is also laid out clearly at a glance :) From jjamppong and jjajangmyeon (black bean noodles) to fried rice, tangsuyuk, and mandu, there's a wide range to choose from depending on your mood.

What three of us ordered at Jjamppong Jijeon
- Rice noodle jjamppong, hell level 1
- Shrimp fried rice (choice of jjamppong broth or egg soup)
- Small sticky-rice tangsuyuk
- Taster fried mandu
With jjamppong, fried rice, tangsuyuk, and mandu all ordered together, the table ended up looking pretty spectacular 😋 Each dish came in a generous portion, which was perfect for a few of us to share and try a bit of everything — that made the meal even more satisfying.

How spicy is hell level 1 rice noodle jjamppong?
We ordered the rice noodle jjamppong at hell level 1 today, and even for someone like me who can't handle buldak (fire noodles), the spice level wasn't overwhelming — it was just right. When it got a bit too much, alternating with a bite of fried rice or tangsuyuk balanced it out perfectly. There was a generous amount of scallops too, adding a nice savory depth from the seafood, and the spicy broth with chewy noodles reminded me exactly why jjamppong tastes so good 😋
The self-serve bar at Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch also has bean sprouts, so you can add as much as you like. Adding sprouts gave the soup extra crunch and made the broth taste even cleaner — I actually preferred it this way!

Is the small sticky-rice tangsuyuk enough for three people?
We ordered the small sticky-rice tangsuyuk to share between three people, and the portion was just right. Whenever a group goes to a Chinese restaurant, tangsuyuk always seems to end up on the table.

We went for the crispy tangsuyuk again this time — crunchy on the outside, tender on the inside, with great texture. The sweet and tangy sauce whets your appetite, and it's perfect to snack on between bites of jjajangmyeon or jjamppong. It's also easy to share with a group, so I'd recommend it as a side dish to pair with any Chinese meal :)

We asked for the sauce to be served separately, so the tangsuyuk stayed crispy right to the last bite — and it came with fried sweet potato too, haha.
Shrimp fried rice: jjamppong broth or egg soup?
The shrimp fried rice had loose, well-tossed rice studded with shrimp, and every bite had a nice bouncy texture. The seasoning wasn't too heavy either — light and savory, which made it a great pairing with jjamppong or jjajangmyeon 😊

You can choose jjamppong broth or egg soup on the side — since we already had jjamppong on the table, we went with the egg soup.

And then — a big scoop of jjajang sauce on top for one bite, haha

Is the taster plate of fried mandu worth ordering again?
I loved the fried mandu last time, so I ordered it again — crispy on the outside, soft and juicy on the inside, with great texture.

Fresh and hot out of the fryer, the crispy wrapper and savory filling worked really well together. Dipping it in the jjamppong broth or the jjajang sauce brought out a different flavor each time. It's delicious on its own, but it's also a great side to order alongside other dishes — I'd definitely recommend adding it to your order :)
Who will enjoy Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch
If you're craving a spicy jjamppong, love fried rice with jjajang sauce, or want to try tangsuyuk and mandu alongside your meal, this place should hit the spot! Whether you're looking for a restaurant near Seooreung or somewhere to eat before or after shopping near Starfield Goyang, I'd recommend Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch. With plenty of parking and a spacious dining room, it's also an easy pick for a family meal or a group outing 😊
