Jeonpo tonkatsu with suitcase storage and open-kitchen bar: Hets Busan
In short
Hets Jeonpo Branch is a tonkatsu restaurant in Busanjin, Busan, a 3-minute walk from Jeonpo Station Exit 7. On a weekday lunch with no wait, this visit meant YBD hirekatsu (tenderloin cutlet, 15,000 won) and Jeju black pork loin katsu (14,000 won) at gray-toned bar seats facing the open kitchen, plus a storage nook by the entrance big enough for a suitcase. Hets Jeonpo Branch works just as well for a solo meal, a date or a group.

Today I visited Hets [Jeonpo Branch], a tonkatsu spot in Seomyeon, Busan that's perfect for a solo lunch or a date course. Let's get into my review!

Inside and outside Hets Jeonpo Branch, 3 minutes from Jeonpo Station Exit 7

Hets [Jeonpo Branch] sits a 3-minute walk from Jeonpo Station Exit 7.

I came on a weekday lunch and walked straight in with no wait, but on weekends or evenings you might need to use CatchTable and wait a bit! Still, there are comfortable waiting chairs (a waiting zone) right in front of the restaurant where you can sit while you wait 🪑

The space is neatly arranged around modern, sleek gray-toned bar seats (a bar table). The vibe suits everything from a relaxed solo meal to a date with mood, or just an easy dinner. The seats are also spaced generously, so it felt comfortable even coming as a group.

Right in front of your seat is a fully open kitchen! ✨ It let me see how clean the kitchen was kept, which made me feel more at ease eating there. Plus, I could watch my tonkatsu being cooked and fried crispy in real time, so even the wait wasn't boring at all — it was a little fun in itself.

Luggage storage big enough for a suitcase
There's a spacious storage area off to one side of the entrance where you can comfortably keep your bags and coats! There's a coat rack, of course, and dedicated space for even bulky bags or travel suitcases, so I could enjoy my meal without worrying about my belongings 🧳
Hets Jeonpo Branch menu and what comes with every set

Every table came stocked with whole peppercorns, salad dressing, truffle oil, and wasabi!

The basic side dishes were kkakdugi (radish kimchi) and tonkatsu sauce!
What we ordered: YBD hirekatsu and Jeju black pork loin katsu

YBD hirekatsu, 15,000 won
You could tell from the rosy pink cross-section just how juicy it was — one bite in and it melted so softly 🐷 The balance between the thin crispy coating and the moist, clean tenderloin meat was perfect, so I could enjoy every last bite without any greasiness. This is the menu to try if you want to really taste that rich, savory depth of premium pork — highly recommend!

Jeju black pork loin katsu, 14,000 won
Made with Jeju black pork loin, this katsu had a nice harmony between the springy texture of the lean meat and the savory fat layer at the edge. The thickness gave it a satisfying bite, and adding a touch of salt or wasabi brought out the fat's flavor even more, so I could enjoy a clean, deep meaty taste without any greasiness. I'd strongly recommend this to anyone who loves the naturally savory taste of pork loin.
Song request event and the candy on the way out

There's a little event where you can write your favorite song on the sticky note and pen at your table and hand it over, and they'll play it as the store's BGM 🎵 Getting to enjoy music I actually liked while eating delicious tonkatsu made the whole time there feel that much more special.

When I went to pay after finishing my meal, I noticed a bowl full of cute mini hard candies at the counter 🍬 They're like mint candy, giving a cool, refreshing tingle in your mouth, which made for a nice clean finish after a rich tonkatsu meal.
