Why we went back to Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap in Choryang

Today I want to introduce a place I was so satisfied with after my first visit that I went back again — Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap near Busan Station. From the moment I first visited, I thought, "I definitely need to come back here!" So when the chance came up again, I jumped on it, haha.

Honestly, when a place impresses you the first time, expectations quietly rise for the second visit, don't they? So this time I went in trying not to expect too much... and well, it turned out to be needless worry. 😂 Places that satisfy you once really do have a reason for it. Today I'll share my honest thoughts on this return visit, comparing it with the last time.

What the restaurant feels like on a busy afternoon

The inside of Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap was, as always, clean and comfortable. Even though I visited in the afternoon, there were quite a lot of diners eating. This clean, comfortable atmosphere was one of the things I liked most about my first visit.

Walking through the door again this time, the familiar space felt oddly welcoming. The staff greeted us kindly and the interior was kept just as tidy as before. Everything felt well-organized, so there was no discomfort the whole time we were there.

The friend I went with even said this is the best place near Busan Station, haha. The good impression from my first visit carried straight through to the second, and that really pleased me.

Three dishes for two: suyuk baekban, gukbap and milmyeon

What I was most curious about this visit was, of course, the taste of the gukbap and the milmyeon at Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap. Suyuk baekban, gukbap, and milmyeon — three dishes for two people. That's basically standard, right? Haha. I ordered while wondering if I'd feel the same satisfaction I did with the milmyeon I loved so much last time.

But the moment I took the first bite, I realized my worry had been pointless. 😆 It was a flavor packed full of Busan.

And the most important thing — the taste! Just like last time, the overall balance of flavors was excellent. Some places are great on the first visit but a bit disappointing the second time around, right?

But here, it was just as satisfying this time. There were plenty of side dishes to pair with the meal too, so I never got tired of it, even to the last bite. I was full, but I couldn't put my spoon down easily. 😂

The staff are what bring you back to Yeongdong

I think one of the biggest reasons I keep coming back to Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap is the kindness. No matter how good the food is, it's hard to want to return if the service is uncomfortable.

But here, just like last time, both the staff and the owner were kind. I liked how they anticipated what we needed and checked in on us throughout the meal to make sure everything was fine. These small acts of care add up, and I think that's naturally what makes you want to come back. They greeted us warmly all the way until we paid and left, so I got to walk out feeling good until the very end. :)

Is a second visit worth it? An honest verdict

It's not easy to feel just as satisfied on a second visit as you did on the first. But this time, I found myself thinking, "I'm so glad I came back." The unchanging atmosphere, the clean, well-balanced flavors, and the service all came together for a fully satisfying visit.

Above all, my friend who came with me was satisfied too, which made me weirdly proud, haha. This isn't a place you visit once and forget — it's the kind of place that comes to mind again whenever you think of a good memory. This return visit was a success too. 💛
