Mortadella open sandwich weekend brunch in Suwon: Kueodeukkutteu

Every time I visit Haenggung-dong, I keep an eye on Kueodeukkutteu (쿠어드꾸뜨, COUR de GGOODD), a brunch café that feels like a converted house — I love that vibe. I finally went for a Haenggung-dong date and had the open sandwich and fig French toast, so here's my weekend brunch review :)

Where Kueodeukkutteu is in Suwon, plus hours and parking

Kueodeukkutteu is a Haenggung-dong brunch café on Sinpung-ro in Paldal-gu, Suwon, open daily 11:30–20:30 with last order at 19:30. There's no on-site parking, but the Jangan-dong public parking lot is just a 2-minute walk away.

Kueodeukkutteu sits right next to the Jangan-dong public parking lot, and the pretty 2nd-floor terrace and red brick facade make it easy to spot. I looked up what the name means — 'cour' is French for a yard or courtyard, and 'ggoodd' comes from 'good.' So it's something like 'a space to spend good time,' haha.

With the cooler, gorgeous weather these days, sitting out on the terrace felt perfect. If you're looking for a Haenggung-dong café with a terrace, or that open-air night-market brunch vibe, Kueodeukkutteu is a great option 🍃

First-floor window seats and the dog-friendly rules

We sat at a seat toward the back of the 1st floor, which also had a window that let in good light and a nice breeze. Kueodeukkutteu is a dog-friendly café — dogs under 15kg can use any indoor or outdoor table.

What are the second-floor window and terrace seats like?

The 2nd floor of Kueodeukkutteu has a variety of window and inner seats spaced well apart, which made it good for a date or a blind date. Just note that once you're seated, it's hard to move, so it's best to pick your preferred spot from the start.

I went up to the 2nd floor too — the window seats there had a nice atmosphere as well. The tables are spaced apart from each other, so it felt like a good spot for a date or blind date ☺️ Once you sit down, it's hard to switch seats, so it's best to grab the spot you want right away.

There were plenty of seats toward the back of the 2nd floor too — if you want to use the 2nd-floor terrace, it seemed like staff would help you out if you just ask.

Ordering at Kueodeukkutteu is done via a QR code placed at each table. The menu is divided into pasta, sandwiches & toast, and mains & sides.

How do the fig French toast and open sandwich taste?

As of my mid-September visit, Kueodeukkutteu's seasonal fruit French toast was fig, served with vanilla cream and honeycomb. The mortadella arugula open sandwich we ordered alongside it had ciabatta bread that wasn't hard at all.

As of my mid-September visit, the seasonal fruit French toast was fig French toast 💜 I bet it'll stay fig-flavored through the fall season. Soft, fluffy fig French toast paired with vanilla cream and honeycomb — this really is a French toast spot worth the trip to Haenggung-dong.

The sandwich we ordered together came out quickly too, and the mortadella arugula open sandwich was genuinely delicious. The ciabatta bread wasn't hard at all, and the mortadella + arugula + basil combo was flawless. They also gave us tongs and scissors together — cutting with the scissors instead of a knife was way easier, haha. Sweet French toast + fresh sandwich combo — I highly recommend it as a Haenggung-dong brunch menu.

Dessert: perilla oil ice cream

For dessert, we also ordered the perilla oil ice cream — ice cream topped with perilla oil and sesame seeds. Sweet and nutty, it was great as a finishing dessert.
