Jeonju House: cast-iron lid pork belly in Bongmyeong-dong, Yuseong
I went looking for good pork belly in Bongmyeong-dong, Yuseong, Daejeon, and ended up at Jeonju House! 🤤😋
I'd been craving pork belly grilled on a cast-iron lid, so I stopped by, and the meat quality was better than I expected, plus the vibe was relaxed — I had a really satisfying meal! This is exactly the kind of place to visit when you're searching for good pork belly in Yuseong, Daejeon!

What are the interior and seating like at Jeonju House?
The inside of Jeonju House was bigger and cleaner than I expected! On the day I visited there were tons of group reservations — I saw families eating together and also groups of several people. Thanks to the spacious layout, it seemed like a great spot for family outings, friend gatherings, work dinners, or even dates! 💗

More than anything, the staff's friendly service made the meal really pleasant. Not just the food, but this comfortable atmosphere is one of the reasons I'd want to come back! ☺️

Refilling side dishes at the self-serve corner
At Jeonju House you can freely refill delicious Korean side dishes at the self-serve corner! The pork belly is great, but every single side dish here is tasty too! Maybe that's why it feels less like just eating meat and more like coming for a hearty, full meal!
✔️ Besides the pork belly, the galbi kimchi jjigae (short rib kimchi stew) on the menu here is also seriously good! 💗 (The galbi kimchi jjigae + rolled egg combo is highly recommended)

The water was served hygienically too, which I really liked > < 💧

How does the domestic fresh pork belly taste?
🐖 Jeonju House says it uses domestic fresh meat, and eating it, I could really taste that subtle, characteristic pork aroma! It felt like grilling meat straight from the butcher shop. Totally my style! 💗💗💗

Neat, well-made basic side dishes that put home-style rice table restaurants to shame!

You also get aged kimchi and lettuce for wraps!

🔥 Let's grill it golden brown on the cast-iron lid! 🔥 Grilling it golden on the lid made the outside savory and the inside chewy — the texture was really good. No gamy taste, just a clean, savory flavor that let the pork belly itself shine! 😋
Certified pork belly spot! 👍🏻

Grilling aged kimchi and garlic alongside the pork belly
And kimchi — you can't skip it when eating pork belly! You can grill sour kimchi alongside the meat, but this wasn't just regular sour kimchi, it had that properly fermented aged-kimchi feel, so it was really delicious! It was aged enough to almost taste like tom yum!
Grilling meat + kimchi together on the cast-iron lid.. the umami explodes.. the meat fat is so good.. 😘

The 2,000 won doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew)
➖ I also ordered the doenjang jjigae! A mere ₩2,000... but it's tasty, good quality, and generous in portion!!!

It doesn't taste like the instant-flavored doenjang jjigae you get at meat restaurants — it tastes like the one my mom and grandma used to simmer with anchovies when I was young! Kya~

Look at that visual — how could this not taste good, the meat color is so good!

Time to grill the garlic too! 🧄

This combo just keeps going in! I'm planning to come back and eat until I'm stuffed. I'll have to order the galbi kimchi jjigae too next time.. ❕

Final verdict on Jeonju House in Daejeon
If you're looking for good cast-iron lid pork belly in Bongmyeong-dong, give Jeonju House a try! 💗 The chewy, savory flavor of the domestic fresh meat combined with grilled aged kimchi was really satisfying! The side dishes were clean and well made too, so it was a hearty meal overall!
Jeonju House 👉 A pork belly spot and a galbi kimchi jjigae spot in one — you won't regret ordering anything on the menu! Great taste, spacious layout, friendly service — I'd give it a 100% return-visit intent!!!
