I was looking for somewhere to have a hearty meal with my kid near Busan Station, and this time I stopped by Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap Busan Station Branch. It's a place near Busan Station where you can get both dwaeji gukbap (pork soup) and milmyeon in one spot, so there was plenty of menu choice, and the vibe felt comfortable for visiting with a kid. On this visit I ordered suyuk baekban and milmyeon and came away nicely full.

Heading up to the 2nd floor of the building, the store entrance comes into view.

Stepping inside, a warm interior centered on wood tones caught my eye.

There were several tables set up too, so it looked like a fine spot for a family meal.

Visiting with kids: baby chairs and disposable aprons

Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap has baby chairs on hand, and disposable bibs too. When you visit a restaurant with kids, you're checking not just the food but also things like baby chairs and the dining space.

Baby chairs were ready to go at Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap, and disposable bibs were on hand as well, which made eating with the kids feel a bit more comfortable.

We took a seat and looked over the menu. The milmyeon comes as mul milmyeon (cold noodles in broth), small ₩8,000 / large ₩9,000, and bibim milmyeon (spicy mixed noodles), small ₩8,000 / large ₩9,000.

For soup, there's dwaeji gukbap at ₩10,000 and sundae gukbap at ₩10,000. And the suyuk baekban we ordered that day is ₩13,000. There were also options like suyuk (boiled pork) on its own and handmade mandu (dumplings).

What we ordered this time was 2 servings of suyuk baekban and a large milmyeon.

We ordered 2 servings of suyuk baekban to share with the kids, and went with the generous large size for the milmyeon so we could all dig in together. Being able to sample several dishes at once made it a good meal for a family.

Suyuk baekban, 13,000 won: what's on the tray

First up among what we ordered is the suyuk baekban.

Suyuk and gukbap come out together, along with a variety of side dishes. Kimchi and diced radish kimchi,

chives, garlic, chili, onion, and more —

all good side dishes to pair with the suyuk.

The suyuk is good on its own, but it tasted even better paired with kimchi or chives.

Even with kids along, we could portion out small pieces of the suyuk for them, which made it a solid choice for a family meal.

The milmyeon we ordered came out too. With sauce and toppings piled on top, it looked really appetizing.

Mixing the noodles well with the sauce, I could taste both the milmyeon's signature sweet-and-tangy flavor and its chewy noodles.

or milmyeon near Busan Station? Ordering both together, like we did, turned out to be a good call.

That said, if you're coming by car, it's worth checking ahead that the store itself doesn't offer parking support.
