Deureomtong Sotttukkeong Dakdoritang

Where is Deureomtong Sotttukkeong Dakdoritang in Nohyeong-dong, and is there parking?
I got tired of eating the same things over and over in Jeju, so I went looking for a Korean restaurant near Jeju Airport and found Deureomtong Sotttukkeong Dakdoritang in Nohyeong-dong to try their pot-lid dakdoritang (spicy braised chicken). There's a small parking lot beside the restaurant, but it only fits about 3 cars, so we parked at a nearby public lot instead.

The concept of the place is so good. Visiting during the day meant it was quiet, which I liked, but the open doorway and the drum-barrel visuals gave it a real traveling feeling too. They're open late into the evening, so it's great for a drink with your meal, and being a solid Korean restaurant near Jeju Airport, it's perfect for anyone landing on a late flight.

Side dishes at Deureomtong: corn salad, dried radish, kimchi and pickled chili peppers
Once we sat down, they brought out the side dishes first — corn salad, dried radish, kimchi, and pickled chili peppers, which felt just right for a Korean meal like this. Personally I prefer a white side dish when eating something red and spicy, and the corn salad was so good I refilled it twice.

What we ordered and what it cost: dakdoritang for three plus king pork cutlet
Sotttukkeong dakdoritang ₩15,000, glass noodle add-on ₩2,000, king pork cutlet ₩13,000. My mom really loves pork cutlet. The moment she saw it on the menu she asked for it, so we ordered 3 servings of dakdoritang plus the cutlet. Every menu item can be ordered starting from 2 servings, so if you want to try a variety, coming as a group of 4 and ordering 2 servings each seems like the way to go!

Dakdoritang served in the pot lid itself, cooked tableside on a timer
Serving it right in the pot lid looked amazing. It comes pre-cooked inside, and once the vegetables wilt down a bit, it's ready to eat.
A staff member came over, set a timer, and cooked it for us — I was surprised at how much glass noodle they gave. I didn't know at the time that lunch comes with unlimited ramyeon noodle add-ons, so I'd ordered the glass noodles instead, but the ramyeon would've paired perfectly too, and it's great that you can eat so generously even at lunch.

King pork cutlet at 13,000 won, an easy pick for families with kids
Once the pork cutlet we ordered arrived, the meal really came together — having a cutlet as a side option makes this a great spot for families with kids too.

The cutlet came pre-cut into easy-to-eat pieces, and the sauce was poured over about half of it, so you could adjust it to your taste.

The cutlet sauce was a bit tangier than what I've had elsewhere, which worked well to balance out the spicy chicken stew, and the cutlet itself was tastier than expected — I'd recommend ordering it if you visit!

Unlimited lunchtime ramyeon and the self-serve side dish corner
You can help yourself to extra side dishes here, and at lunchtime there's a mountain of ramyeon noodles you can add for free — I was tempted, but since I already had glass noodles ordered, I held back this time and just enjoyed the side dishes. If you're planning a lunch visit, I'd definitely recommend piling on the ramyeon noodles for a really filling meal!

How the dakdoritang tasted: cheese rice cakes, quail eggs and potato
Once the timer went off, it was ready to eat, and when I scooped it into my bowl, I found potato, plain rice cakes, cheese rice cakes, and quail eggs all packed in generously — I loved it.

The seasoning soaked into the chicken faster than I expected, giving it deep, rich flavor. It's a slightly sweeter style of dakdoritang, which made it great for enjoying with the whole family! The potato was sliced thin and had partly mashed into the broth, giving it a rich, thick texture that was delicious.

Overall, the food's presentation and price were great, and the visuals were satisfying to look at — a really enjoyable Korean restaurant near Jeju Airport to visit while traveling, Deureomtong Sotttukkeong Dakdoritang in Nohyeong-dong.

Being Jeju, there were also snacks on display near the exit — since this was the end of our trip we didn't buy any, but picking some up as a snack during your trip seems like a good idea too.
