Goyang plant-filled café with a squid-ink sausage danish: Baedagol

I was looking for a nice-vibe café near Ilsan and ended up at Baedagol Bakery House. It's close to Ilsan but there are pear orchards nearby, so it has a different sort of feel, haha.

It's a large bakery café in Wondang, Deogyang-gu, Goyang, and it's full of gardens and plants, so it feels like stepping into a forest.

There's a lot to look at and it photographs really well, so it's a place adults would enjoy too.

What is the atmosphere like at Baedagol Bakery House?

The moment you walk into Baedagol Bakery House, the gardens and plants everywhere made me think, "this is basically a mini botanical garden." Even if you're not into cafés, there are so many flowers and succulents that it's fun just to look around.

With floor-to-ceiling windows, high ceilings and lots of natural light coming in, photos turn out really pretty. It also connects to an outdoor garden, so it's nice to stroll around like a little walk.

Even though it's a café, there's so much to see that it wouldn't be boring to bring your parents along — everyone would probably like this Ilsan-area café with its forest feel.

What I picked at Baedagol Bakery House was the sausage danish (squid-ink sausage bread) and the summer-only melon bingsu (shaved ice). Honestly, there was so much bread and it all looked so good that it took me forever to decide, lol.

Inside the squid-ink dough there's a whole plump sausage. With every bite the sausage kind of pops, and the salty sausage with the savory squid-ink bread was surprisingly addictive.

Melon bingsu, a summer-season menu

Just looking at it feels cooling and delicious. The sweetness wasn't overdone and it was clean-tasting, so it was easy to enjoy without feeling heavy on a hot day.

You can see the melon chunks still whole, right?! Super sweet, and the ice cream had a rich, premium taste too. Everything I ate was so good it made me want to buy even more bread.
