Salt and marinated eel grill for two in Bundang: Mansuheon Jeongja
In short
Mansuheon Jeongja is a premium eel restaurant near Exit 3 of Jeongja Station in Bundang, Seongnam, serving eel stone-pot rice and charcoal-grilled eel. On a Friday evening, two of us ordered the new September premium set for two — one serving of salt-grilled eel, one of marinated grilled eel, and octopus with seasonal greens — with the eel pre-grilled to 90 percent over 1,300-degree charcoal and finished on the tabletop grill. It looked small for two at first, but we left full: satisfying in both portion and flavor.

Here's my review of Mansuheon, an eel restaurant in Bundang that my partner and I visited last week.

Mansuheon is a premium restorative-food dining spot known for its eel stone-pot rice and charcoal-grilled eel.

Where is Mansuheon Jeongja? Parking and hours
Mansuheon Jeongja is just 327m from Exit 3 of Jeongja Station, on the 2nd floor at 158 Jeongja-ilro, so it's easy to reach by subway. The entrance already gives off a clean, upscale feel.

The sign is clearly visible from outside, so it's easy to find. Even the sign has that 'this must be a good restaurant' energy, haha.
- Mon–Sat 11:30–21:45 (break time 14:00–17:00)
- Last order 21:15
- Closed on Sundays
If you use the Baekgung Plaza 2 parking lot, entering before 6pm gets you 1 hour free, and entering after 6pm gets you 2 hours free. If it's full, you can use the nearby Emco Heritz parking lot, and they'll refund 1 hour of parking fee in cash.

Signature lunch and dinner dishes at Mansuheon Jeongja
The signature lunch dishes are eel stone-pot rice and eel patty stone-pot rice, while dinner's signature dishes are grilled eel and hanwoo two-plus grade galbisal grill. Since you can enjoy both eel and hanwoo here, it seems like a great spot for dates as well as family meals and work dinners!

Interior, private rooms, and booking a Friday night table
The interior at Mansuheon Jeongja was upscale and stylish, which I loved. The atmosphere matters so much when you're eating out, right?👍

We came on a Friday evening and the place filled up fast. It would have been a disaster if we hadn't reserved! There's a private room on one side too, so if you want that, you'll definitely want to book ahead.

Ordering is simple — just scan the QR code at your table. Being able to order right away was really convenient, haha.

Open-kitchen charcoal pre-grilling and how the table is set
Mansuheon's eel gets carefully pre-grilled in the open kitchen — they say it's cooked to 90% over 1,300-degree charcoal, giving it a crisp outside and tender inside, which gave me a lot of confidence in the quality! They were grilling eel nonstop, haha.

The table was neatly set with dongchimi (radish water kimchi), julienned ginger, and house sauce to eat alongside the grilled eel.

The basic side dishes were pickled lettuce, geotjeori (fresh kimchi), perilla leaf pickle, and potato salad — all neat and tasty, haha.
What comes in the premium set for two, new in September
📋 Premium set for two (salt-grilled eel 1 serving, soy-marinated grilled eel 1 serving, octopus and seasonal herb salad). I ordered this newly launched set menu, which just came out in September.

The octopus and seasonal herb salad arrived first, and the octopus was plump, with the tangy seasoning and fragrant herb smell perfect for opening up the appetite.

Salt-grilled eel with black sesame salt
And finally the eel arrived‼️ Since it comes pre-grilled, you only need to think of the tabletop grill as finishing it off a little more.

Doesn't the plump flesh look so delicious?.?

One thing I regretted is that we couldn't drink that day! Delicious food and a drink are an unbeatable combo, so that part was a shame🥲 We could have eaten so much more!
You can dip the grilled eel in wasabi, house sauce, or black sesame salt depending on your taste, and the black sesame salt really stood out to me!

Marinated grilled eel wrapped in perilla leaves
Next up, the soy-marinated grilled eel, sizzling away. Just like the salt-grilled version, the flesh was plump and tender and easy to eat. The sauce was evenly coated, so it was delicious even without adding more seasoning.

Wrapping grilled asparagus and eel in a perilla leaf pickle and eating them together was so good, haha.

Is the premium set for two enough food for two people?
At first I thought it might be a bit little for two people to share (we're both good eaters), but once we finished it, we were stuffed — a meal that satisfied on both quantity and taste😊 Now I'm curious about the eel rice bowl too. I should try visiting for lunch next time!
Who should eat at Mansuheon Jeongja?
- When you're craving restorative food
- When you want eel and hanwoo in one meal
- When you're looking for a restaurant with an upscale atmosphere
- Family meals, dates, or work dinners
