Seongnam Vietnamese restaurant for family seafood egg noodles: Kkamon

In short

Kkamon Bundang Jeongja Direct Store is a Vietnamese restaurant in Seongnam, Gyeonggi, on Jeongja-dong’s café street. My family ordered brisket pho, Kkamon fried rice, and seafood egg noodles, and my child happily ate the noodles and seafood. Verdict: a clean, generous spot for a family Vietnamese dinner.

Kkamon on Jeongja-dong’s café street

Today, we decided to have pho, our family’s favorite food :) I’d been to Kkamon for pho many times at its Bojeong branch, and heard there was one in Jeongja-dong, Bundang too, so off we went.

It was one of those days when autumn had made the weather nicely cool, perfect for a walk. If you come by car, you can use the parking lot at The Sharp Star Park shopping complex. We did not use it this time, but I remember it being quite spacious and easy when I came before! Even beginner drivers should be able to visit easily.

Kkamon is right on the trendy Jeongja-dong café street. Just looking at the exterior makes it feel like you have actually arrived in Vietnam.

We came late on Saturday evening, so the restaurant was fairly quiet, but delivery riders kept coming in to pick up takeout orders—maybe everyone was ordering in. Takeout and delivery are available! Compared with the other branches I have visited, this place felt much tidier and cleaner overall. I really got the sense that they manage cleanliness well. There are solo seats by the window too, so it seems great for nearby office workers eating lunch alone.

The three dishes we ordered

We ordered Kkamon Brisket Pho ₩11,000, Kkamon Fried Rice ₩13,000, and Seafood Egg Noodles ₩14,000.

There is a kiosk at every table, so you can order right away and pay by card.

At the self-serve bar, you can help yourself to extra onions and danmuji (yellow pickled radish). We piled up a big plate of onions, added spicy sauce, and even made onion kimchi :) The sauce containers and bowls were all managed so neatly and cleanly!!

A generous bowl of fresh-style brisket pho

Our brisket pho arrived first. The brisket was so tender, and there was plenty of it, which I loved. The chili peppers come on top at first, so if you are sharing with a child, remove them before serving! Oh, and we are totally on team cilantro, so why did we not order it..? They apparently give you lots if you ask for it separately. How did we forget that?

Personally, I like pho noodles with that fresh-noodle feel, and that is why I like Kkamon. The broth was delicious too..!! Another great thing is that there are seriously lots of noodles. So many places stuff the bowl with bean sprouts but barely give you any noodles, which is frustrating; here, the meat and fresh-style noodles alone are plenty.

Our usual fried rice and our first seafood egg noodles

Next up was Kkamon Fried Rice! This is another dish we order every single time we come.. haha. This time we considered seafood fried rice, but ended up with the dish we always eat. It is a straightforward fried rice: egg fried rice topped with stir-fried pork. Nicely savory and tasty :) There are so many offices around Jeongja-dong, and it seems perfect for office workers at lunch. Will Kkamon not open one in Yeouido..?

We tried the seafood stir-fried noodles for the first time because they were a new menu item. They had lots of plump shrimp and some squid too, and our little one ate them so well. It was our first time ordering it, but we were much more satisfied than expected.

I think our little one ate almost all the noodles in one bowl of pho.. We like Kkamon too, of course, but we come often because our child loves it and eats so well here haha. Maybe they should have been born in Vietnam..

It may have been our little one’s first time having stir-fried noodles, but they ate the squid, shrimp, and noodles so well. Children’s tableware is available too, so they could comfortably eat on their own with a fork :) The restaurant was clean, the food was delicious, and the weather was lovely—a successful dinner date for us. Oh, we love cilantro so much, so why did we forget to request it? I looked it up, and it seems they will give it to you separately if you ask! How could we forget that..

When you are craving Vietnamese food in Jeongja-dong, I highly recommend Kkamon on the main road of the café street!
