Paju ssambap restaurant with fast table turnover: Simhaksan Deulkkot

I went to Simhaksan Deulkkot Ssambap, a truly delicious spot in Paju! I already loved this place, and this time I got a discount through Superchart, which was a great opportunity to go again.

Why Simhaksan Deulkkot Ssambap seats you fast even when it's busy

Simhaksan Deulkkot Ssambap is a Korean restaurant that everyone loves, young and old, so it's always packed. Whether you go with your parents, your family, or your friends, it's satisfying every time!! Somehow I always manage to arrive without a wait, and this time too, right after I got in, a huge crowd of guests came in behind me~! Still, the table turnover is fast, so you can get seated quickly.

Parking, QR ordering and the 20,000-won deuljeongsik set

Deulkkot Ssambap has a parking lot right in front, so no worries about parking! One nice thing about Paju restaurants is that the parking lots are really spacious~! This was actually the first time I'd ever seen the Deulkkot Ssambap lot completely full. Even so, spots opened up quickly, so it was still easy to visit and eat.

As soon as I walked in, I ordered right away and then went to grab some wrap greens. There's a QR code on the table for ordering. You scan the QR and order on your phone. I ordered the deuljeongsik set! The deuljeongsik is 20,000 won, and the flower set (kkotjeongsik) is 26,000 won. The flower set comes with extra grilled atka mackerel and mackerel.

Doenjang stew and sesame-dressing salad

This is the doenjang (soybean paste) stew-like soup that comes with the set. It's amazing, seriously delicious. It might taste a bit salty on its own, but eaten with the stone-pot rice, you could eat it endlessly.

Before digging into the rice, I had a bite of salad for the sake of conscience~ It has my favorite sesame dressing, so it's so delicious — this Paju restaurant, Deulkkot Ssambap.

Homestyle side dishes and pumpkin porridge in a brass bowl

I know I sound like a broken record saying everything is delicious, but the side dishes at Simhaksan Deulkkot Ssambap are truly delicious too. The homemade flavor is really something... every single side dish is delicious, ugh. You could finish a whole bowl of rice with just the side dishes. The side dishes may vary a little each visit! So no matter when you go, it's always... every time... everyday... delicious. I want to eat it again haha.

This is the pumpkin porridge served first. Slurping it down really wakes up your appetite. Genuinely not a single thing here isn't delicious... The color is so pretty too. It's served in a brass bowl, so both the pumpkin porridge and the rice look and taste amazing.

The unlimited self-serve bar of ssam greens and banchan

And here's another reason grown-ups love this place~ the wrap greens (ssam) are unlimited. They're kept refrigerated to stay fresh. You can take as much as you want of napa cabbage, lettuce, perilla leaves, chicory, and more, endlessly. Just take as much as you'll actually eat~

There's also a spot on one side where you can take unlimited side dishes. All the side dishes are delicious ones, from stir-fried zucchini to sweet potato stems... Just refill as much as you'll eat!

Stone-pot rice and nurungji (toasted rice crust) to finish

This is the stone-pot rice from Deulkkot Ssambap. The set comes with stone-pot rice, and the rice is genuinely delicious. What kind of rice do they even use? The rice itself is great, but making nurungji (scorched rice) into a rice tea after finishing the rice gives you a clean finish^^

Stir-fried pork and stir-fried squid in the deuljeongsik set

This is the stir-fried squid and stir-fried pork that come with the deuljeongsik. Both come together. If you mix them together later while eating, it's a whole other delicacy. The portion is pretty generous, so it's enough for a full, filling meal. The side dishes are delicious, but the stir-fried squid and stir-fried pork — what more can I say, they're truly delicious!!

Wrapping as much as you like into a ssam gives you a healthy, filling meal, which is great. Your parents would love it if you brought them along, and it's also super satisfying to visit with friends — this Paju restaurant.

When I think 'what should I eat in Paju~?' Simhaksan Deulkkot Ssambap is always the first Paju restaurant that comes to mind!! Definitely visit and try it once~~ It's seriously delicious.
