Seomyeon birthday bar with mango bingsu and cake: Yuumangju

When I've had a first round of drinks, I always crave bingsu (shaved ice dessert) for the second round..... turns out Manager Suji feels the same way..

Yep. We're both notorious bingsu addicts..

But honestly, good bingsu spots aren't that common.. surprisingly.. so I searched around and found a place in Seomyeon that sells a whole range of bingsu flavors?!!!! And it's not just bingsu — the rest of the food is completely on point too!!!! So here's the Seomyeon bar I ended up going to!!

Where is Yuumangju Seomyeon Branch, and what are the hours?

Yuumangju Seomyeon Branch is a Korean bar (요리주점) on the 2nd floor at 31 Dongcheon-ro 85beon-gil, Busanjin-gu, Busan, 149m from Exit 6 of Seomyeon Station. It's open from 5pm to 3am the next day, located above Thursday Party Branch 2.

Since it's on the 2nd floor you climb some stairs.. the lighting was nice~ the wording was nice~~ and I really liked what the name Yuumangju (유망주, "promising prospect") means!! I'm a promising prospect of drinking too! << Jinju, you're over thirty, calling yourself a "promising prospect"... anyway whatever

So many of the main dishes looked genuinely delicious!! Just reading the menu made me drool.. Since we came for a second round I ordered from the side menu.. but next time I want to come for a first round and try the main dishes for sure.. While we were drinking, the kitchen actually did some kind of fire show?! haha, that kind of thing. Just looking at the food, you can tell they really know what they're doing and put their heart into it!!haha

So many of the side dishes sound delicious just from their names ㅠ.ㅠ There's pasta for the ladies too!! And look at those four bingsu flavors right there. I came for the bingsu but there's so much other good food too... anyway we ordered two sides!! Fire chicken egg pancake and mango bingsu!!!

Lots of drink options too!!! From soju to highballs to makgeolli!! We went with!! Good Day soju that night..~~~

The basic side dish they bring out is garlic bread, crispy crispy and so good.. I immediately did a shot of soju with it.. haha

Mango bingsu, 12,000 won: perfect for a second round

Yuumangju Seomyeon Branch's mango bingsu is 12,000 won. The combo of sweet ice cream and tangy mango makes the soju go down smoothly.

Finally, the mango bingsu arrived!!! I'm speechless. That sweet ice cream and tangy mango combo!! The soju just goes~ down~ so~ smoothly~~~

How does the 15,000-won fire chicken egg pancake taste?

Yuumangju Seomyeon Branch's fire chicken egg pancake is 15,000 won and came out right after ordering. If you like fire chicken flavor, this combo can't miss.

The fire chicken egg pancake came out fast too, so here's a shot of it with the bingsu.. This fire chicken egg pancake is seriously the tastiest thing ever..ㅠㅠ The visuals were completely wild too... couldn't possibly not taste good..

So~ good~~ haha this is truly "sexy food." I used to be obsessed with fire chicken but hadn't had it in a while, and eating it again after so long — why is it this good.. The combo is the best..ah..

The food was so good that I chose jjabaegi (ice-cold soju shots) instead of just plain soju! They kindly served it in an ice cup. The best..

Can you celebrate a birthday at Yuumangju Seomyeon Branch?

I asked Yuumangju Seomyeon Branch if it was okay to just quietly blow out candles, and they said we could sing, blow out candles, dance, do whatever we wanted. Then they quietly played a jazz version of the birthday song as BGM.

Cautiously.. I asked if it was okay to have a quiet birthday celebration, just blowing out candles.. and of course they said yes, sing, blow out candles.. dance, do it all haha haha haha, which made me so happy..

Suddenly the birthday song played quietly as BGM.. a jazz version.. haha haha haha haha then they brought this over quietly.. haha haha haha haha truly. my. style.

If I'd been more drunk I probably would've stood up and danced.. but since I wasn't that far gone, we celebrated really quietly haha. Having them bring something like this over was so touching haha.. I'm known for being a bit of an attention-seeker.. and I think this bar's vibe would match perfectly with my "eagle sisters" squad.. gotta bring them here next time!!

The food was completely my style.. the staff were kind and the vibe was so nice.. seriously a bar I want to go back to!! If you're looking for a Seomyeon bar!! I highly recommend Yuumangju!!!!
