Late-night bar in Seomyeon, Busan open till 5am: patbingsu at Yohai
In short
Yohai (요하이) is a late-night bar-restaurant on Seojeon-ro 10beon-gil in Seomyeon, Busanjin-gu, Busan, serving until 5am on Friday and Saturday. After a first round with friends, the writer went up to Yohai's third floor for itjeolmi patbingsu (shaved ice with red bean and rice cake) at 15,900 won and crab egg soup at 19,900 won, with Cass beer and Chamisul soju at 5,000 won each; the cold ice and hot soup went together better than expected. Yohai suits a light, chatty second round rather than a heavy meal.

It had been a while since I set aside real time to meet up with friends in Seomyeon haha. Everyone's been busy with their own lives, so it's not as easy as before to see each other often — but just matching schedules and chatting face to face like this felt so good~~
That day, ending things after the first round felt too soon, so we thought about where to go next and ended up at Yohai, a spot for a second round of drinks in Seomyeon!! The vibe was unique and it stays open late, so it was a solid choice for a light second-round drink^^ Here's my honest review.

Where is Yohai, and what are its hours and parking?

What is the atmosphere like inside Yohai?
Yohai was easy to find while walking through the night streets of Seomyeon. The place is on the 3rd floor, so you have to head upstairs, but the moment you step inside, the atmosphere completely shifts.
Colorful lighting glows softly throughout, giving it more of a hip, moody feel than your average bar! Thanks to the lighting, photos turned out pretty atmospheric too haha. The tables and seats are spaced out generously, so it was great for sitting and talking with friends for a long time.

So personally, I think this place suits people looking for a second-round bar in Seomyeon to actually talk with friends or a partner over drinks, rather than a loud, drinking-only kind of spot^^

What we ordered at Yohai and what it cost
What we ordered that day was
- Itjeolmi patbingsu (bean-flour rice cake shaved ice) ₩15,900
- Crab egg soup ₩19,900
- Chamisul soju ₩5,000
- Cass beer ₩5,000 × 3 bottles
- Coca-Cola ₩2,500
That's the lineup^^

Itjeolmi patbingsu, 15,900 won
Having patbingsu suddenly show up in the middle of drinking already made a great visual impression hahaha. There was a generous amount of sweet red bean and crunchy toppings piled on, perfect for spooning up bite by bite between drinks. Since we'd already eaten during the first round, having something sweet like this for the second round actually went down easier than heavy bar food!!
Crab egg soup, 19,900 won
And the crab egg soup we ordered alongside it! You need at least one hot soup dish to keep the drinks flowing, right?? Soft, fluffy scrambled egg with crab meat in a warm broth — a total opposite pairing to the patbingsu, but switching between the two turned out surprisingly well^^ One bite of cold shaved ice, then a spoonful of warm soup, then a sip of beer haha. We ordered Cass and Chamisul too and had a proper drink with friends after a long while.

More than the food itself, what made that day so happy was just seeing my friends again after so long. We laughed over nothing in particular, talked through everything we hadn't gotten to say, took photos, had a drink, and lost track of time. The older you get, the more precious it becomes just to match schedules and meet up like this with friends. Maybe that's why the time spent at Yohai that day stuck with me even more :)

Is Yohai a good second-round bar in Seomyeon?
Open late with a unique atmosphere, this place worked well for moving to after a first-round meal! Being able to order something light like patbingsu alongside a warm soup dish made it a great choice for a second-round drink spot in Seomyeon.

If you're meeting friends in Seomyeon after a while and want somewhere to have a relaxed drink and chat without heavy bar food, give Yohai a try^^
I ended up laughing and chatting my heart out with friends that day and had such a great time hahaha. If you're looking for a second-round bar in Seomyeon and care about a moody atmosphere and late hours, this is a place worth checking out :)
