Danyang market salt bread reheated in an air fryer: Black Garlic Salt
In short
Black Garlic Salt Bread is a salt bread bakery inside Gugyeong Market in Danyang, Chungbuk. The writer bought a set of 4 original salt breads plus a mixed set of original, garlic, and black garlic salt bread, brought them home, and reheated them in an air fryer at 180°C for 3 minutes, coming out crisp outside and moist inside — a textbook salt bread. This is a must-try if you're visiting Danyang's Gugyeong Market.

Today I visited "Black Garlic Salt Bread," a salt bread spot inside Danyang's Gugyeong Market.

Made and sold same-day, black garlic made in-house too
Every product at Black Garlic Salt Bread follows a same-day-made, same-day-sold policy — they knead and bake fresh dough daily so you only ever get freshly baked salt bread, with no preservatives, dyes, or chemical additives whatsoever, they say. The black garlic that goes into the bread is also made in-house at the store, so you get the flavor of genuinely fresh black garlic.

Black garlic salt bread can only be found here in Danyang — made with black garlic prepared from Danyang's six-clove garlic, a black garlic sauce aged 20 days with Taean sun-dried sea salt, and French gourmet butter blended with black garlic for what they call the optimal flavor.

Menu, set options, and discount tips
Black Garlic Salt Bread offers a range of menu items — original salt bread, streusel salt bread, garlic salt bread, and black garlic salt bread — each sold in affordable set combos.

Delivery and bulk orders are also available!

On top of that, if you buy Danbbang Bakery items or black garlic nurungji (scorched rice) fried chicken, you get ₩1,000 off a salt bread set — so you get fried chicken, garlic bread, salt bread, and a discount, haha. Total three birds with one stone.

And if you just buy one salt bread set and take part in the receipt review event, they give you a free Sangha Farm ice cream made with 100% organic milk — definitely worth doing, and I highly recommend pairing that milky ice cream with the salt bread.

You can also get salt bread with ice cream together as "ice cream salt bread" for ₩6,000.

They age the black garlic directly in a rice cooker to use in the black garlic salt bread.

Why you need to go early, and the tasting
Because the salt bread at Gugyeong Market's Black Garlic Salt Bread is so popular, it sells out fast, so you need to get there early to buy some.

You can also taste the black garlic salt bread first and choose based on that.

Packing up Set 1 and Set 2
I ordered Set 1 (4 original) and Set 2 (2 original, 1 garlic, 1 black garlic).
I brought them home safely. They say for long-term storage, seal and freeze them, and thaw frozen bread at room temperature before baking in an oven or air fryer at 180°C for 3 minutes.

I laid out the salt bread, black garlic salt bread, and original salt bread on a plate, and they looked so plump and puffy — really appetizing.

Garlic salt bread
The garlic salt bread has a sweet sauce and garlic flakes on top, and the sweet garlic aroma is really nice.
Original salt bread
The original salt bread is really large in size. Crisp outside, moist inside — the visual is a textbook example of salt bread.

Black garlic salt bread
The black garlic salt bread has slits cut into the bread with black garlic sauce drizzled in between, giving it a strong sweet-and-salty appeal.
After reheating in the air fryer at 180°C for 3 minutes
Here's the original salt bread after 3 minutes in the air fryer at 180°C. Really so appetizing. The subtle scent of French gourmet butter spreads out, and the butter has soaked all the way through the crisp exterior, giving it a crunchy, nutty look.

Moist inside, buttery and crisp outside — genuinely delicious salt bread.

The garlic salt bread too, piled high with garlic flakes and soaked through with butter on the outside, looks fantastically crisp and nutty.

Wrap-up
Doesn't that plump, puffy salt bread look great? Today I visited Black Garlic Salt Bread inside Danyang's Gugyeong Market. I tasted fresh salt bread made same-day, kneaded daily with no preservatives, chemical additives, or dyes, using gourmet butter and a black garlic sauce aged with Taean sun-dried sea salt and made in-house. Crisp outside, moist inside — a textbook salt bread flavor, and something I think you absolutely must try if you visit Danyang's Gugyeong Market.
