Yeonnam-dong bakery café for chestnut crumble bread and 1L iced latte

Today I visited Noknok, a Yeonnam-dong bakery café known for its delicious bread haha. Noknok is a large café with great vibes, but it's also really good value, so if you're often in Yeonnam-dong, it's perfect as a daily café!

This large Yeonnam-dong café is located right beside the Gyeongui Line Forest Trail, between Hongik University Station and Gajwa Station, and near Gyeongseong High School, so it looked convenient for both locals and office workers nearby. The building's distinctive shape and color made it easy to find, and walking there while enjoying Yeonnam-dong's neighborhood vibe, I arrived pretty quickly haha.

The bakery display and bread lineup

As a famous Yeonnam-dong bakery café, a wide variety of baked goods were on display — several kinds of salt bread, plus scones and other baked treats!

Among all the bakery items, Noknok is known for its bread — and it's not oversized, so it's just the right size for a meal or a snack, without feeling heavy. There were several flavors too, so it was fun picking one out haha.

Ordering and payment are done at the kiosk haha. Noknok has its own signature menu items, including cup bingsu (shaved ice dessert) and bingcup, along with coffee that pairs nicely with dessert, plus cool smoothies, ades, and healthy teas.

1st floor seating - work space and lounge space separated

The interior spans two floors, and each floor has a spacious, comfortable layout, which I loved. The 1st floor uses slightly dimmer lighting to create a cozy, relaxed atmosphere haha.

One of Noknok's strengths is how clearly the work space and the lounge space are separated! The big, cushy sofa in the middle is great for resting or chatting with friends, and since there's more than one sofa area, there's plenty of seating for group gatherings too haha.

There are also bar tables good for one or two people, and shared seating at large tables — these seats all come with outlets, so a lot of customers come here to work haha.

There's a women's restroom in the 1st floor hallway, and a men's restroom when you go up to the 2nd floor.

2nd floor: white and wood tones, a quieter mood

Going up the stairs, the 2nd floor suited my taste a bit more — the white tones let sunlight in for a bright, cheerful feel, and lots of wood furniture added extra warmth to the interior.

There are comfortable sofa seats and focused work tables here too, though the 1st floor has more sofa seating overall haha.

The 2nd floor interior at Noknok felt quieter and better for concentrating!

1-liter iced americano, ₩4,800

My drink-loving friend Dongsan-i was the only one who ordered the 1-liter iced americano.. haha. Noknok lets you choose your beans, so I picked the nutty roast, and it had a rich, nutty flavor that came through clearly — plus a full liter of it, which was hugely satisfying.

Iced caffè latte, ₩3,900

I ordered the iced caffè latte again this time, and at Noknok.. it's not a taste you'd casually dismiss just because the price is low..! The latte was smooth, with a subtle sweetness and nuttiness — at this quality, I'd want to drink it every day haha.

Crumble chestnut bread, ₩6,000

With so many bread flavors, it was hard to decide, but since chestnut desserts have been trending lately, I went with the crumble chestnut bread that caught my eye the most haha.

Cutting it in half, what stood out most was the chestnut filling packed throughout the bread — mild with a subtle sweetness that never got sickly, and the crumble on top added a nice range of textures. On top of that, the dough itself was soft and chewy like milk bread, which made it even better — I could see why this place is known for its bread haha.
