A large bakery café between Gangnam and Sinnonhyeon stations, easy to visit alone
I got to Gangnam Station earlier than my meetup time and wanted to find a nice-vibe café to sit alone in. Right between Gangnam Station and Sinnonhyeon Station, I found a café with a spacious layout and a wide variety of baked goods — Bakerist Brown, a Gangnam Station bakery.
The red-brick interior gives the café a clean, moody look that catches your eye the moment you walk in, and it seemed like a great spot for photos too. Honestly, a lot of people take their best shots out front with the café as the backdrop.

Right from the entrance, it's already reserved a spot as a sunlight-lover's paradise haha. With everything from desserts to bingsu (shaved ice) on the menu, the place was packed even though I showed up around opening time.

Inside, they also sell all kinds of goods, from t-shirts to cups, so I could browse while waiting — the cups were so pretty I almost bought one.

Choosing 4 madeleine flavors as gifts for a wedding invitation gathering
They keep a separate baking space in the back and apparently hand-make every baked good fresh daily using top-quality French butter and ingredients. That's probably why their rich, flavorful pastries are so popular — you could see almost everyone picking up at least one. The pastries looked great too, but since I was heading to a wedding invitation gathering, I decided to pick 4 flavors of madeleines, perfect for gifting, one of each.

There were also so many desserts with cute plating that looked delicious just to look at, and the whole dessert lineup made for great photos.

If you buy a pudding, they throw in a heart pie for free — nice bonus if you're getting the pudding anyway, right? There's a waiting area on the 1st floor, and pretty much all their bakery items are available to pack to go, so there were a lot of takeout customers at this Gangnam Station bakery, Bakerist Brown.

Salt cream coffee: the signature latte topped with cream
The bakery is famous, but the drinks aren't something to skip either — the pretty, well-known cream-topped latte is their signature, so after some deliberation I went with the salt cream coffee.

2nd-floor white sunlit seats, 3rd-floor big tables for study groups
The café's interior has this vintage feel that photographs really well and just felt so good to sit in. The 2nd floor is clean and white-toned, flooded with natural light — totally my style.

The 3rd floor has large tables good for study groups too, which looked great for visiting with a bigger group, but since the weather was nice I decided to enjoy the light on the 2nd floor instead.

Honestly, I'd bought the madeleines to give as a gift, but they looked so good and came in so many flavors that my eyes kept drifting back to them. Still, I resisted temptation and went with the wrapped gift box.

How did the salt cream coffee taste?
Before all that, a sip of coffee to wake up and get a sugar boost. True to being the signature menu item, the flavor was special enough that I ended up finishing it fast — the salt cream coffee. The sweet, nutty, smooth cream on top paired amazingly well with the coffee underneath.
The foam was nice and dense, clinging to your mouth in the best way, with just the right sweetness and a creamy texture, and that final touch of salty saltiness at the end was so good. The coffee below had great aroma and flavor too — once you take one sip, you can't stop, you just keep drinking.

Gangnam Sand cookies in 8 flavors: matcha was the richest
And no visit is complete without the Gangnam Sand cookie, a great pick both as a gift and as a sugar fix, so I decided to eat some there and bring the rest home. I loved that with 8 flavors to pick from, there's fun in choosing. Chocolate, matcha, Earl Grey, black sesame, peanut butter, and more — so many options to pick based on your taste, and each one looked so pretty it felt almost a shame to eat.

At home I went straight for the matcha, the flavor I'm obsessed with these days — the rich, high-matcha-content cream and crisp biscuit sent my blood matcha levels soaring, exactly to my taste.
Why Bakerist Brown works for gifts and thank-you boxes
Being walkable from both Gangnam Station and Sinnonhyeon Station made this easy to visit, and I liked how spacious the café was — this Gangnam Station bakery, Bakerist Brown. With such a wide bakery lineup that's also great for gifting, I gave the madeleines as gifts and everyone said they were so delicious, making this a solid choice for return gifts too. With its lovely atmosphere and famous desserts already drawing crowds on weekdays and weekends alike, if you're heading to Gangnam, definitely check it out.
