On nice-weather days it feels like a waste to just stay home, so I ended up going for a light drive. This time I headed toward Goyang for some fresh air. The place I visited was Baedagol Bakery House. It's not just about bread and coffee — there's a pretty garden attached too, which made it a great Wondang café to visit with a kid. Browsing through the breads one by one, you end up picking out bread even if you only came for coffee.

The breads on display were kept neatly in a clean glass case, making it easy and reassuring to choose what you wanted, especially with a kid in tow. And beyond bakery items, there were plenty of cake options too, so anyone wanting a simple dessert had lots to choose from.

First, the americano had a clean, nutty flavor. Since the cakes were on the sweeter side, pairing them with a clean coffee like this worked really well. I also really enjoyed the fresh fig cake slice. With the fig in it, it had a completely different feel from the Basque cheesecake. After the heavier cheesecake, the fig cake finished things off with a fresh, light note, so I was glad I ordered both together. The fresh fruit in the cake was a nice touch too. If you love sweet desserts but find heavy cakes a bit much, this fig cake would suit you well.

What I especially liked about the first floor of Baedagol Bakery House was the garden view. Even sitting indoors, the lush green garden visible through the windows meant there was never any stuffy feeling.

Being able to take in the garden view even from the first floor at Baedagol Bakery House made it a comfortable place to relax while eating bread. If you're visiting with a kid, you can eat and then step out into the garden for a bit of fresh air.

So on the first floor, I got to enjoy both browsing the bakery and relaxing with a garden view — two charms in one. The spacious second floor and terrace

Baedagol Bakery House isn't just the first floor — it has a second floor too, so overall the space feels quite spacious. The tables are fairly well spaced, and the second floor has various seating types, making it easy to pick a spot depending on your group size.

By the window, you can still see the garden view, so sitting there with a cup of coffee felt especially relaxing. There's also seating for larger groups, making it a decent spot for a meetup.

I especially liked the terrace space. With autumn starting to set in, the garden view from the terrace was really pretty.

For families moving around with a kid, amenities like high chairs make things a bit more convenient too. This isn't just a place to grab bread and go — it's a space to slow down and enjoy coffee and dessert.

Is Baedagol Bakery House worth the trip to Goyang?

Lately, there are plenty of Goyang cafés with pretty interiors, but finding one that's comfortable to visit with a kid and has easy parking isn't as simple as it sounds. In that sense, Baedagol Bakery House was a great spot for a family outing, with its bakery and desserts as well as its garden and outdoor space.

If you're looking for a quiet spot for coffee in the Wondang area, or a Wondang café where you can enjoy bread and cake together, it's worth stopping by at least once. It's also an easy drive from Ilsan, so it could be a good option for anyone looking for an Ilsan café to visit on a light weekend drive.
