Gwangalli panorama brunch café with pasta and ade: Working Holiday

In short

Working Holiday Minrak is a brunch café that takes up the whole 7th floor of the Badamaru building on Minrak Subyeon-ro in Gwangalli, Busan, with panoramic ocean views. On this second visit after summer, the sofa seats came with Bolognese pasta, jambon eggs Benedict and an ade, and the ragu sauce with flat noodles plus the poached egg and mayo sauce were nicely balanced. Working Holiday Minrak is worth it for the view alone, but the atmosphere makes it an easy recommendation on any Gwangalli trip.

Panoramic ocean-view brunch café Working Holiday Minrak in Gwangalli

I spent last weekend in Gwangalli and went back to Working Holiday Minrak, which I loved so much over the summer haha. Overall the brunch quality is high and the menu is really varied. This time the weather was mild and so pretty that I ended up taking a ton of photos hehe 🤍

Where is Working Holiday Minrak, and the basics

Working Holiday Minrak is on the 7th floor of Badamaru at 29 Minrak Subyeon-ro, Suyeong-gu, Busan, South Korea, and takes up the entire floor. There are 3 elevators, but so many people are heading up that it can get crowded — it's easier to go down to the basement level and catch one from there.

  • ⏰ Hours: daily 09:00 – 22:30 / last order 22:00
  • 🚗 Parking: use the underground lot behind the Badamaru building — 1 hour free with a purchase over ₩10,000, up to 4 hours per day. Plenty of spots and very clean.
  • 💳 Reservations: available via Naver Reservation, specific seats can be booked

How do you order at Working Holiday Minrak — kiosk or counter?

Before you go in, you can order at the kiosk out front! It has menu photos too, so ordering is really easy. Plus, once you're inside, staff can also take payment at the register.

The signature menu is wood-fired pizza — made with dough fermented fresh every day, described as Naples-style pizza with fresh ingredients. There's also Australian-style brunch and specialty coffee. After ordering, just grab a buzzer yourself from the stand next to the counter.

There's a huge selection of wine too •••• the inside of Working Holiday Minrak looks like it would be great for dinner with a glass of wine alongside a meal.

Seating types and the ocean view from the sofa seats

Because Working Holiday Minrak occupies an entire floor, the interior is massive — a truly true large-scale brunch café. There's a wide variety of seating too.

  • Shared tables
  • Sofa seats
  • Direct ocean-view seats
  • Wall seats
  • Terrace

So many options!! I got the ocean view from the sofa seats both times I visited 💝

Now that the weather's warmer, lots of people were sitting out here even during the day.

Looks like a lot of new items have been added to the menu since last time.

Bolognese pasta: ragu sauce and flat noodles

I love dipping bread into ragu ••• this pasta comes with a house-made ragu simmered from beef and tomato.

Bolognese pasta with ragu sauce over flat noodles

I love this kind of flat noodle — cooked just right, plenty of sauce, and the ragu flavor was so good the noodles disappeared in no time... then I wiped up the rest with bread 🥺💕 Highly, highly recommend this one.

Jambon eggs Benedict with poached egg and mayo sauce

Jambon eggs Benedict topped with poached egg and arugula

Jambon + poached egg + arugula + tomato + sourdough (optional). The jambon eggs Benedict looked gorgeous. The house-made jambon, poached egg, and mayo sauce were so well balanced, and eating a fresh sandwich while looking out at the ocean on a cool afternoon made me so happy.

A glass of ade set by the ocean-view window

I ordered an ade again on this visit too. I love pairing something fizzy with brunch. Such a good ade.

The newly renovated interior of Working Holiday Minrak

Having the restrooms on the same floor is a huge plus too, and the interior has been redone, so it feels fresh and new rather than dated. So clean, very reassuring!!

Is Working Holiday Minrak worth a second visit?

It's worth going just for the view, but the atmosphere is so good it genuinely felt like I was traveling — even as someone from Gwangalli. If it feels this good to a local, I can only imagine how it feels to visitors from out of town or abroad 😢 I'll definitely recommend this place for a Gwangalli trip 😭💝
