Italian gelato near Misa Station
A newly opened favorite near Misa Station: Damgeum Gelato Misa Branch, a great gelato spot in Hanam! When I traveled in Italy, I had one gelato a day, but in Korea it was seriously so hard to find truly delicious gelato. This place captures the real flavor of Italian gelato—said to be certified by the Italian government—with such intensely rich ingredient flavor!

It is a 10-minute walk from Misa Station, and parking is available in the commercial building lot.

A terrace-style entrance and visitor information
The entrance has such a lovely Italian café terrace feel, with pretty colors, so it is great to visit on a nice-weather day. It is regularly closed Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday through Saturday, hours are 12:30–21:30, with a break from 17:00–18:00. Sunday hours are 12:30–18:00, and Naver Booking, takeaway, and delivery are available.

The gelato is made by a gelatiere trained at an Italian gelato school, using Damgeum's own recipes tailored to Korean tastes and traditional Italian handmade methods. The coffee is made by a barista trained at the Italian Barista School, an official training institution of the National Institute of Italian Espresso. It really felt like being at a café in Italy.

Cup gelato is ₩7,000, and cone gelato is ₩8,000.

Takeaway is also available in three sizes, so it is nice to bring some home.

There are lots of other traditional Italian desserts too, so I want to try the tiramisu next timeㅠㅠ

They say Damgeum Gelato is made with healthy, whole ingredients that are low in sugar and fat, with no chemical additives, plus top-quality ingredients.

As an officially Italian government-certified gelato spot, I was full of anticipation.

Two gelato flavors in a chilled bowl
Both the indoor and outdoor areas have a great atmosphere, and the owner was so kind. I could choose two gelato flavors, and when you eat in, they serve it in a chilled gelato bowl, which was great because the gelato did not melt quickly! It stayed cool to the very end, with the texture intact.

I chose peach and pistachio, and the colors were seriously so pretty. The portion was just right for one person, and it was delicious without being too sweet.

Sitting on the terrace, the view was lovely. Enjoying a quiet, leisurely moment while looking at all the greenery on a cool day felt so nice.

From peach to Jeju lemon sorbet
The peach had such a deeply rich peach aroma and flavor, like the fruit itself, and the pistachio had a lovely nutty aroma too.

The Jeju lemon flavor was a refreshing sorbet—seriously, the kind of bright tang that makes your eyes pop open. Recommended if you love refreshing sherbet-style ice cream!

The chocolate ice cream had a deep chocolate flavor. It is a familiar flavor, but it was delicious haha. The fruit and ingredients change with the seasons; I heard super-sweet corn is the summer seasonal flavor, so this is somewhere I wanted to revisit every season out of curiosity. There is also a wide range of traditional Italian coffee, and next time I would like an espresso drink.
Damgeum Gelato Misa Branch is a gelato spot near Misa that captures the fresh taste of whole ingredients. Its ice cream is made with wholesome ingredients, so it is a good gelato place to visit with children, and I recommend it to anyone missing that Italian gelato taste. A great pick for a cool, sweet dessert.
