Cheonan grill house with 2,000 won doenjang stew: Euljiro Yeontan Gui
In short
Euljiro Yeontan Gui Cheonan Buldang Branch is a briquette-grill pork restaurant on the first floor of the Lee&City building in Buldang-dong, Seobuk-gu, Cheonan. Diners reserve a table with a live briquette fire and order samgyeopsal (pork belly), which arrives pre-salted and tastes good with no extra seasoning, while the doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) costs 2,000 won. With a self-serve side dish bar and friendly staff, Euljiro Yeontan Gui is an easy, casual pick when you want grilled meat in Buldang-dong.

Today I want to introduce a Buldang-dong restaurant in Cheonan-Asan: Euljiro Yeontan Gui Cheonan Buldang Branch. The meat is so good you never get tired of it — I just kept eating!

Euljiro Yeontan Gui Cheonan Buldang Branch / Hours ⏰ 17:00–2:00 / Parking 🚘 Starbucks Sinbuldang branch, 1st floor (2 hours free) / 🚻 Separate men's and women's restrooms (building restroom)
Where is Euljiro Yeontan Gui Cheonan Buldang Branch and how do you get there?

Follow the map and you'll spot it quickly — the sign stands out, so it wasn't hard to find!

The place was surprisingly spacious. They also do seafood, so there was even a fish tank?! Grilled fan mussels, scallops and more seafood options too. I told myself I'd try that once the weather warms up more, then pushed open the retro door and walked in.

Inside Euljiro Yeontan Gui: seating and the menu board
There's a row of round tables, and the spacing between them was wider than I expected, so we could eat comfortably. You can even tuck your coat inside the seat!

Worth checking out the signage too — there's a full menu board, and prices for each menu item are also written large in various spots.

Isn't the menu board — and even the tissue box — kind of retro? I love this vibe, so it worked for me.

Side dishes come out for you at first, and after that it's self-serve.
Restrooms: building restrooms, separate for men and women
For the restroom, go out and it's right through the building entrance on the right. Men's and women's are separated, and since it's the building's restroom, it was kept reasonably clean! I find shared restrooms uncomfortable, so having them separated made it easy to use!!

A reserved briquette table and nothing but pork belly
We had a reservation, so we sat straight down at a table with the charcoal already lit. On the recommendation of a friend who'd been before, we ate pork belly (samgyeopsal) the whole time.

After ordering, we waited a bit and the side dishes came out. Bean sprouts and kimchi went on the grill.

We got wrap vegetables, seasoned chives, seasoned lettuce, and sauces. The sauces must be good at their core, because even the chives and lettuce mix were all tasty.

Then the meat arrives. It comes topped with salt already, so you don't need to season it separately — nice touch!

Why the briquette fire takes time at the start
They put it straight on the grill. Because it's charcoal, heat doesn't transfer well to the outer edges, so the first round of grilling does take a while. I'd recommend coming when you're a little less hungry 😂 But once it's grilled once, you can push the cooked pieces to the outer edge and keep eating them warm the whole time!!
I absolutely love the bean sprout kimchi you grill together with the meat..🫶🏻

Rice, 2,000 won doenjang jjigae and round after round of pork
We also ordered rice and doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew), but the problem is I was scarfing it down so fast I'm subbing in the restaurant's own photo 😅 It looked exactly like the photo and was the full classic BBQ-restaurant doenjang jjigae experience. The flavor itself was rich enough that I could've finished a whole bowl of rice with it. Keep eating a bit of meat in between and it just keeps coming, endlessly. So good!!!

Doesn't that look amazing? I want to eat it again already 😋 It's already salted, so it's delicious even plain, and I liked eating it together with the bean sprouts or kimchi!!
Prices at Euljiro Yeontan Gui and the final verdict
First of all, it's cheap. The doenjang jjigae is ₩2,000!! In this era of high prices, isn't that amazing?! I'm honestly not sure about typical meat prices, but at this level, I'd say the meat is good value too!
- The staff were friendly
- The self-serve side dish bar made it easy and comfortable
- It's in the Buldang commercial area, so it's convenient for locals craving meat
So, I'd recommend Euljiro Yeontan Gui Cheonan Buldang Branch!
