Cheese waterfall katsu & curry rice bowl for two in Cheonan: Jinsim
In short
Jinsim Wang Donkatsu Cheonan Buldang is a giant pork cutlet restaurant near Mulchongsae Park in Buldang-dong, Cheonan. A couple shared the cheese waterfall pork cutlet and the sausage curry rice bowl, and the portions were so huge they had to pack half the cutlet themselves at the self-packing station by the entrance. With a self-serve bar for side dishes, broth and soup, it's a great spot for two to eat well.

Hi, I'm Nayeon, still fairly new after a year of living in Korea!

I visited Jinsim Wang Donkatsu Buldang branch, famous as a pork cutlet spot in Buldang-dong, Cheonan.
As the name suggests (jinsim means "sincere" and wang means "king"), it really conjures up images of a huge pork cutlet, and as someone who loves donkatsu, I was curious what it would taste like.
I've eaten a lot of pork cutlet during my time in Korea, but this was definitely different from anything I'd had before.

It was good enough to win over even a foreigner like me, so let me introduce this Buldang-dong favorite, Jinsim Wang Donkatsu!

It's located at an intersection near Mulchongsae Park (Kingfisher Park) in Buldang-dong, so it's easy to find.

There's underground parking, but we parked in the temporary lot right next door and it was convenient.

Interior and seating atmosphere
The interior was bigger and more spacious than I expected, and pleasantly comfortable.

We arrived before lunchtime, but as a well-known Buldang-dong spot, there were already plenty of customers eating.

The tables were spaced out generously and there were plenty of seats, so we sat wherever we liked.

There's also a self-packing station on the right of the entrance, so you can freely pack up any leftovers to take home!

Self-serve side dishes, broth and soup
You can help yourself to side dishes at the self-serve bar — lettuce, pickled radish, kimchi, ssamjang — plus plates, scissors, tongs, and even kids' tableware, so you could take exactly what you needed.

Right next to it there's broth and soup too!

My husband couldn't decide between the broth and the soup so he brought both — nice to have a light sip of something before the meal!
What's on the menu?
The menu was really varied — pork cutlet, fish cutlet, kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup), udon, bibim naengmyeon, cold soba, bibimbap, curry rice bowl, tteokbokki, bingsu, fried shrimp, mandu, chicken tenders and more.
So if you don't just want cutlet, you can mix in other dishes, and the prices are reasonable enough that it seems like a good spot for a group where everyone picks something different!

Along with a Tamos orange soda, I had the cheese waterfall pork cutlet, and my husband had the sincere sausage curry rice bowl — the portions were really huge!

What comes with the cheese waterfall pork cutlet, and how it tastes
This is the cheese waterfall pork cutlet. You get one massive hunk of cheese-stuffed cutlet, served with rice, corn kernels, salad, and even a chili pepper.

With so many pork cutlet options on the menu, I was torn, but the poster looked so delicious I decided I had to try it!

I sliced the cheese cutlet neatly in half with a knife right away, and it was packed with cheese inside — the look of it alone made my mouth water!

Can you see how much cheese is packed inside? The moment I saw it, I understood exactly why it's called the cheese waterfall!

I cut it in half again, and the cheese poured out of the cutlet like a waterfall.

One bite in, the savory cheese and crispy cutlet went so well together — if you love cheese cutlet, you have to try this at Jinsim Wang Donkatsu!
There was so much cheese that you could see it stretching in long strings — amazing!
The chewy, soft texture of the cheese added to it, and with every bite my mouth was filled with that savory flavor 😊

The portion was bigger than expected, so we were already full after half of it, and we packed the other half to go right away! (It was genuinely so good that I want to recommend it)

How was the sincere sausage curry rice bowl?
My husband's sincere sausage curry rice bowl also came out in a surprisingly huge portion!

The sincere sausage curry rice bowl came with a fried egg, big sausages and hash browns piled generously on top of the curry.

My husband ate the curry rice bowl together with the fried egg, and said the rich, deep flavor of the curry came through well, with the soft, savory egg white pairing perfectly with the rice!
Especially with the runny yolk mixed into the curry, it became even softer and more enjoyable to eat.
The sausage, great for eating together with the curry rice, had juicy flavor and a springy texture that made for a satisfying bite!
A portion big enough to share between two and still be full
Side dishes, broth and soup were all freely available.
And leftovers could be packed up ourselves, which was convenient!
What we loved was that every menu item came in such a large portion that two people could split it and still eat plenty!

Jinsim Wang Donkatsu Cheonan Buldang, a pork cutlet favorite in Buldang-dong, Cheonan, delivered on both generous portions and great taste — we ate hearty and full, from the cutlet to the curry rice bowl!
