A recommended sandwich spot on Anyang's Daengridan-gil: Saechamcoffee

A weekend morning woken up by a crispy, spicy chicken sandwich and a cold iced americano! It felt like all the stress from the week just melted away. I had brunch at this atmospheric café on Anyang's Daengridan-gil, haha.

Turns out the Daengridan-gil alleys are full of aesthetic little spots I hadn't noticed. I like doing café tours on weekends, and this time I went to Saechamcoffee, an Anyang sandwich place known for great handmade sandwiches.

Saechamcoffee's hours, and the best time to visit
They're open Monday 11:30 to 22:00, and Tuesday through Sunday 10:00 to 22:00. There's a takeout discount for weekday visits before 2pm, so if you want to enjoy a home brunch, get there before 2.

I looked up the brunch menu first, since that was the whole point of this visit. I ordered one spicy chicken sandwich set, one a la carte sandwich, and — since the season isn't quite over yet — a watermelon smoothie and a peach iced tea.

I liked that they had such a variety of drinks. Sometimes Anyang cafés lean way too hard into just coffee, or don't feel handmade at all — but Saechamcoffee gets the balance right on everything.

Besides brunch, any drinks or desserts worth trying?
The signature drinks, honey salt latte and honey butter latte, are popular, and there's a good lineup of desserts baked in-house — handmade scones and cookies, Nagasaki castella, and more.
There were 4 kinds of cake too — not sure if the lineup rotates, but every single one looked delicious. I had no idea a café like this existed on Anyang's Daengridan-gil, even after living in Anyang for over 20 years.

What's the vibe and seating like inside?
The interior was much cleaner and cozier than I expected. The alley view through the big window, the window-side bar table, the cute little touches — everything screamed Instagram-worthy the moment I pointed my camera at it.

Today's order arrived on a warm-toned wood tray! The sandwich looked amazing, and just looking at the drinks and coffee cooled me down instantly, haha. It's not even that hot out anymore, but still — iced coffee forever.

How does the spicy chicken sandwich taste?
Between two slices of squid ink ciabatta, they packed in generous amounts of spicy chicken, fresh vegetables, tomato, and red onion — the visuals alone were wild.

I can't forget that first bite. Super crispy, spicy, yet clean-tasting! Paired with the nutty, slightly bitter iced americano, it finally felt like the weekend.

I also thought it was a nice touch that they served a crisp, clean housemade pickle alongside it, haha. Most places just hand you the sandwich alone — that small detail alone earned them five stars from me.

Is this Anyang sandwich the reason people say something gets better the more you chew it? I really love ciabatta, and this was my first time trying squid ink ciabatta — it seemed even nuttier, and how did they get it this crispy, haha.

The watermelon smoothie we ordered together was cold with the natural sweetness of real fruit still intact — pretty much every table had one on it. It paired really well with the spicy sandwich too. And the peach iced tea, need I say more... so refreshing, big thumbs up.

Are there any perks for regulars?
This Anyang Daengridan-gil café isn't just about a well-made menu — they've also got a membership point tier system, prepaid vouchers, takeout discounts, and plenty of other perks packed in for regulars. If it were closer to home, I'd definitely become a regular. Funny how in Anyang, even nearby Anyang can feel far, haha.

It had been a while since I had a proper weekend brunch and chat like this, and I honestly lost track of time, haha. I think this Anyang Daengridan-gil café works great for a date, but also for a solo café visit. Participate in the Naver receipt review event and you can get a levain cookie too — worth grabbing:)
Saechamcoffee is an Anyang café where you can get properly made handmade brunch and deep, rich coffee. If you want a cozy weekend in an Instagram-worthy café, this one's worth a visit!
