Gopchang dinner for two after work at Ilmigop, an Anyang restaurant
In short
Ilmigop is a gopchang (grilled beef intestines) restaurant in Bisan-dong, Anyang, Gyeonggi. Two servings of assorted gopchang, beer, a reservation-event beef belly, and fried rice were more than enough to fill up two friends after work. The portions and flavor were satisfying enough to make it a place worth returning to whenever gopchang cravings hit.

My friend Bitna and I decided to meet up after work for the first time in a while. Considering both our commute times and routes, we settled on Anyang, and while looking for somewhere to eat dinner, I found this place! The portions were generous and the food was so good that both of us left completely satisfied — let me introduce the Anyang gopchang restaurant we visited, Ilmigop, located in Bisan-dong, Anyang.

Enter through the main gate of Bisan Hansin the Hue apartment complex and park at the 1st floor behind the commercial building. They also gave us plenty of parking time, so we could eat without worrying about the clock.

We had booked a reservation for 7pm ahead of time.

What's the vibe inside?
Stepping inside Ilmigop, the overall feel was clean and pleasant.

The spacing between tables was good too, making it a comfortable place to chat with a friend while eating.

After looking over the menu, we ordered assorted gopchang for two and a glass of beer.

Free beef belly with a reservation
Doesn't that beer look so refreshing! I'd driven so I didn't drink, but my friend was really enjoying it haha. When we visited, there was a reservation event running where booking through Naver on a weekday between 5 and 7pm got you a free serving of beef belly. I didn't know about it beforehand, but the staff let us know! Getting a free extra like that made the whole meal feel even better.

The complimentary soft tofu stew came out first. For a "basic" side dish, though, the portion was quite generous!
It was hot and spicy, which was a great way to whet the appetite before the gopchang, and it paired really well with the rich, oily meat. And then — finally — the main event, the assorted gopchang, arrived!

Assorted gopchang for two: how were the four parts?
The visuals alone were overwhelming.

The staff explained that it came pre-grilled, so we just needed to finish cooking it a bit more on the grill at our table.
Gopchang (small intestine), makchang (large intestine end cut), daechang (large intestine), and yeomtong (heart) were all piled generously on the plate — it looked mouthwatering just to see haha. We started with the heart, and it was so thick, chewy, and tender. Heart can sometimes turn out tough if not cooked well, but here the texture was excellent.

Not just the heart — the gopchang itself was packed full of gop (the fatty, creamy inner lining)! One bite and it was bursting with savory richness, which was exactly my type since I love gopchang.

The makchang was chewy and savory too, and check out this plump daechang — even in the photo you can really feel how thick and juicy it looks haha.

A little guilty toward my arteries, but some things you just can't resist. The deep, savory flavor unique to daechang kept pulling my chopsticks back. And personally, my favorite pairing with the gopchang was the chive salad!

Eating the rich, oily gopchang alongside the chive salad cleared my palate each time, so I just kept going. The chive salad was so good I asked if we could get a refill, and the staff generously piled on more.

And on top of all that, adding in the beef belly we got from the reservation event

It felt like a whole second meal had started all over again lol.
Room for fried rice after two servings?
Honestly, whenever I go to a gopchang restaurant and only order two servings, I almost never remember feeling full, so I always end up ordering fried rice at the end. But Ilmigop's portions were so generous that after the two servings of assorted gopchang plus the beef belly, both my friend and I were already pretty full and debated for a while whether to get the fried rice. But once we saw how it looked, there was no way we could pass lol. It's normally served as 1.5 servings, but since we were so full, we asked them to make it a bit smaller. And so, we ended up ordering the fried rice anyway.

Even though we asked for about one serving's worth, the portion was still bigger than expected! It also came topped with egg, and it looked so pretty.

The fried rice came out slightly crisped, and mixed together with the egg, it just kept disappearing despite how full we were haha. We would have really regretted skipping it!

By the time we finished and were heading out, there was already a waitlist forming! To wait, you just write your name and party size on the list!
Final thoughts 🩷
Overall, the biggest thing I noticed during the meal was just how generous the portions were. Usually at a gopchang restaurant, two people ordering two servings need to add fried rice on top just to feel full, but here two servings of assorted gopchang alone already filled us up quite a bit. Add in the free beef belly from the reservation event, plus the soft tofu stew and chive salad, and it made for a really satisfying, hearty meal.
And it wasn't just the portions — the flavor of the gopchang itself was satisfying too. The staff were friendly throughout, which made the whole meal even more pleasant. My friend actually lives near Ilmigop, and she seemed so happy with it that she said next time she eats gopchang with her husband, she wants to come back to Ilmigop in Anyang. I'd love to return myself the next time I'm craving gopchang.
If you're looking for a gopchang restaurant in Anyang, this place is worth a visit. It's especially recommended if you're hunting for good food in Bisan-dong or love generous portions of gopchang. If you're searching around Beomgye, it's also worth the short trip over as a solid gopchang option in the area.
