A day to meet a friend at Suwon Station-! ✨ After eating this and that, I wanted something for round two that wasn't too heavy but still properly filling, so I went looking for a Suwon Station bar and ended up trying Yukhoe Dokjon 🙌

Yukhoe Dokjon has been a fixture at Suwon Station for over a decade. It's not a Suwon Station bar that sells a bit of everything — this place sticks strictly to hanwoo (Korean beef) yukhoe 👏
It's an old, beloved spot near Suwon Station, but the space itself was clean and kept its charm 🫧 What I especially liked ‼️ lighting that wasn't too dim, and plenty of seating. It's spacious and tidy enough to work for a date at Suwon Station, or for a group gathering or a work dinner ✔️✔️
First drink with the free beef and radish soup
At Yukhoe Dokjon, they bring out beef radish soup right after you order and sit down. It keeps simmering at the table, so it stays warm all the way to the end — the best kind of default side dish 🫶 Honestly, soju goes down smoothly with just this soup alone 🎵
What I ordered was the mid-size hanwoo yukhoe and live octopus. Prices were ₩28,000 and ₩17,000.
How fast the fresh yukhoe arrives
Since this Suwon Station yukhoe restaurant sticks to yukhoe alone, the dishes come out really fast. Simple is best, haha.
Even fresher: the live octopus
Eating yukhoe without live octopus...? That means missing out on the best combination,,,, The live octopus came out right away too, still properly wriggling and alive...👍
With the yukhoe and octopus together, everything looked even more delicious 👍 I ordered them separately as à la carte dishes since I'm a glutton, but there's also a good-value combo menu ✔️ with live octopus and hanwoo yukhoe served together ✨
100% chilled hanwoo yukhoe with egg yolk and black sesame sauce
Can't skip the drinks. A drink with the beef radish soup even before the yukhoe and live octopus arrived 🍻 then another drink while eating the yukhoe and octopus 🍺
At this Suwon Station restaurant, Yukhoe Dokjon uses only 100% chilled hanwoo yukhoe, and the freshness was clearly a step above. The bright red yukhoe made my mouth water just looking at it....🤤
I liked that the egg yolk came out separately! I love dipping it in yolk, but my friend didn't, so it worked out perfectly for everyone to dip as they liked〰️
Black sesame sauce came out too, for dipping the yukhoe 〰️ It had a nutty, sweet flavor that was really nice to eat 😋
Hanwoo yukhoe + egg yolk + pear — the best combination 👏👏👏 Whatever combination you eat it in, the hanwoo yukhoe itself is so fresh that this Suwon Station yukhoe restaurant is delicious just on its own-!
Still-moving live octopus and its two dipping sauces
Sorry, but I have to say it myself,,,, live octopus needs to be eaten fresh, right away ‼️‼️
For the live octopus, they gave us two sauces ✔️ sesame oil ✔️ vinegared gochujang.
But more than any sauce, live octopus eaten together with the yukhoe was the tastiest way ❗ We polished off two full plates of hanwoo yukhoe and live octopus, so we were full, but since it felt like fresh, healthy food, there was less guilt about it 🍃 ✌️ and that made it easy to fill up on more drinks too ✌️

An old favorite near Suwon Station for a reason — Yukhoe Dokjon. Maybe because the basics are done so well, the yukhoe and live octopus tasted even better ⭐️⭐️ The owner was kind too 👍 and the place was so clean it's hard to believe it's been around this long ✨
