Hwaseong hair salon hippy perm for fine hair: Juno Hair
In short
Juno Hair Dongtan SRT Station Branch is a hair salon by Dongtan Station in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi. I chose a hippy perm and side bangs after a consultation for fine hair that does not take a perm easily, with curl checks and scalp care over 3.5 hours. A full autumn mood reset.

With autumn approaching, I found myself wanting a change for my hair for the first time in a while. To be honest, part of me thought, should I try a big, elegant S-curl perm this time? 😊 But then there was the reality of me. Even if a salon makes it look beautiful, I am not someone who carefully styles my hair every day with a blow-dryer or curling iron. I had not gone in having decided on a hippy perm from the start either, so I spent quite a while torn between S-curls and a hippy perm.
This time, I visited Juno Hair Dongtan SRT Station Branch, close to Dongtan Station. It is right in front of the station, so public transportation is convenient, but I drove. I had watched Juno Hair’s YouTube store-guide video for Dongtan Station beforehand, and after passing the Lotte Department Store parking lot at Dongtan Station, I simply followed the red guide line on the road straight into the retail-complex parking lot. It was easy to find. 👍

My stylist today was Senior Director Ria. To give you the conclusion first, it felt less like I had spent about 3 hours 30 minutes just getting my hair done, and more like I had properly reset my mood before autumn. 😊
How did I choose between S-curls and a hippy perm?

Before the service, I had a one-on-one styling consultation with Senior Director Ria. She did not just look at the style I wanted; she went through how much I usually style my hair, what kinds of perms I had enjoyed before, and the current condition of my hair, one by one.
My hair is on the fine side, does not take a perm easily, and I am not great at styling it day to day. On the other hand, I love natural, voluminous curls enough that I have had hippy perms several times before. Taking the coming autumn season into account too, I went back and forth between S-curls and a hippy perm before making my final choice: the hippy perm! I liked that this was not simply a consultation recommending a trendy style; we worked out the direction together based on my hair characteristics and usual care habits. After looking at my face shape as well, she designed side bangs to fall a little farther along the sides and naturally soften my face line.

Later, when I looked through Senior Director Ria’s styling book, it seemed that she places importance on designs that take both head shape and face shape into account. I thought to myself, “Ah, so that is why she paid such close attention even to my side bangs.” 👍
The hippy-perm process for hair that does not take a perm easily
After the consultation, we started with shampooing, and it was a proper mood reset from the very beginning. During the shampoo, they also provided a scalp-pore cleansing service using a water punch. It felt refreshingly stimulating as it cleansed my scalp—personally, it was as invigorating as receiving a scalp massage. It felt like the refreshment of a hair-salon day began right there. After shampooing, we moved on to the overall haircut.
This time, we did not cut much length. They kept as much of my existing length as possible while tidying the overall line and shaping the side bangs we had discussed to suit my face shape.

Then the real hippy perm began! Since my hair does not take a perm easily, Senior Director Ria checked the curl condition carefully throughout the process. She wrapped each rod, applied the solution, and used heat treatment, but rather than simply finishing immediately according to a preset process, she adjusted the steps while watching the condition of my hair. That really stood out to me.
Even after rinsing out the first application of solution, she checked the curls in consideration of my hair’s tendency not to take a perm well, then gave it another round of heat treatment. Even if it meant the total service took longer, she paid attention to getting a perfect result. I liked that. Rather than rushing to finish on time, it felt as though she checked along the way and considered each step so the curls I wanted could come through in my hair. Having experienced it myself, I could feel Senior Director Ria’s genuine care for hair design and the service itself, from the consultation through the perm process. :)
A restful kind of care, with drinks and the spa zone
While I was getting the perm, they also prepared a drink and cookies. I chose an iced Americano, and there was bear-shaped ice floating in the coffee. 🐻 You cannot just let something like that pass without taking a photo, right? The cookie served with it was a Grains cookie, and when I looked closely, it even had JUNO lettering! There is also a kids’ zone for customers visiting with children. It is a small detail, but I remembered how thoughtfully they considered these details for customers spending a long time having their hair done.

And what I especially loved about this visit was the spa zone at Juno Hair Dongtan SRT Station Branch. Along with the perm, I received a hair protein treatment, and in the spa zone I could lie back comfortably for scalp care. Lying in a chair with a full-body massage function while receiving scalp care made it feel less like I was at a salon for a perm and more like I had come for a little rest.

While waiting for the perm, I also browsed the styling books of the staff placed in front of me. Senior Director Ria’s styling book happened to be there too, so I opened it. One part that especially stayed with me said she hopes hair time can be more than a simple service—it can be a time to reset a client’s mood and confidence. It somehow fit perfectly with why I had come to get my hair done that day. :)
A 3-hour-30-minute autumn mood reset

After debating S-curls and a hippy perm, I ultimately chose the hippy perm. I think I loved it even more because the decision considered my usual styling habits, my fine hair that does not take a perm easily, the styles I like, and the season too. The side bangs were also designed with my face shape in mind, so my overall look changed naturally.
Once everything was finished—the consultation, cut, perm, protein treatment, and scalp care—about 3 hours 30 minutes had passed. It was a long time, but strangely, instead of feeling boring, it felt like I had spent time wholly for myself for the first time in a while.
In the styling book, Senior Director Ria also said she wants to become “a designer only I want to know.” But I am writing about her on my blog right now... I think it is already too late, right? 😂 Beyond a designer only I want to know, I will call Senior Director Ria a designer I hope everyone gets to know. 😊
