Anyang lunch near Bakdal Market with mul naengmyeon finish: Sannae

In short

Sannae Sutbul Galbi Bakdal Branch is a Korean BBQ restaurant tucked in the alleys of Bakdal Market in Anyang, Gyeonggi. A hearty lunch of Korean pork (hanwoo dwaeji) marinated pork galbi at 250g for ₩15,000 came with doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew), rice, and a bowl of mul naengmyeon (cold noodle soup) to finish. It's a solid course to pair with a walk around Bakdal Market afterward.

Signature shot of Korean pork marinated galbi grilled over charcoal

Wanted a good lunch of meat plus a walk around Anyang's Bakdal Market~! So I headed to Sannae Sutbul Galbi Bakdal Branch. It's tucked in an alley inside Bakdal Market, so the location was really great. Eat a good lunch, then stroll the market slowly — perfect combo! Now that the weather's starting to cool down a bit, a walk through the market after a meal is genuinely fun.

But the biggest draw was the price — Korean pork marinated galbi at 250g for ₩15,000. That alone caught my attention. After actually eating it, though, it wasn't just the price that impressed me — the meat, the side dishes, and the meal menu were all satisfying overall, so I wanted to share.

Easy to find, right by Bakdal Market

Sannae Sutbul Galbi Bakdal Branch sits very close to Bakdal Market, so even on a first visit it wasn't hard to find. The exterior has "Sannae Sutbul Galbi" in big letters, easy to spot from a distance. Since it's near the market, it's great for a meal while you're out shopping — or, like us, you can pair the meal with a walk through Bakdal Market afterward.

Separated inner space for group parties

Inside, the place was cleaner than I expected, with plenty of tables. Ventilation was in place too. Overall it had a comfortable neighborhood BBQ restaurant vibe, so an easy spot for a family lunch. The seating was somewhat divided, which seemed good for larger groups too. There's a separated space in the back for group parties~! So if you're looking for a spot in Bakdal-dong, Anyang for a get-together, this one's worth checking out.

Korean pork marinated galbi, 250g for ₩15,000

The first thing that caught my eye on the menu was, of course, the price! The signature dish, Korean pork marinated galbi, is ₩15,000 for 250g. Given how expensive eating out has gotten these days, both the portion and the price felt pretty good. We ordered the pork galbi, plus doenjang jjigae and rice, and decided to finish with mul naengmyeon.

Basic banchan with lively scallion salad

Before the meat arrived, the basic side dishes were set out — not an overly complicated spread, but a clean lineup that pairs well with pork galbi. There was kimchi, garlic, pickles, and lettuce wraps, plus a scallion salad and a green salad. The scallion salad especially went perfectly with the pork galbi~! One taste of that seasoning and you know this place has real skill ^^

Self-serve corner for banchan refills

There's a self-serve corner, so refills of vegetables and basic banchan are easy~ You can usually tell if a place is good by tasting the banchan first, and after trying that scallion salad seasoning, I'm convinced ^^

Pork galbi with seasoning that wasn't overdone

Finally, they put the Korean pork galbi on the charcoal grill. Marinated meat can sometimes have seasoning that's too strong or too sweet, making you tire of it after a few bites, but I liked that Sannae Sutbul Galbi's seasoning wasn't overdone. It was moderately sweet without being salty, and didn't mask the flavor of the meat, so it was easy to keep eating. Grilled over charcoal, the edges browned nicely and picked up a savory aroma.

Cut into easy bite-sized pieces and grilled a bit more on both sides, it developed a moist sheen that looked delicious just to look at. It was great with garlic, and also great piled with scallion salad. Not a heavy price tag, plus a good portion of meat — that's exactly why I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a good BBQ spot in Bakdal-dong.

Doenjang jjigae, rice, and mul naengmyeon to finish

Doenjang jjigae served in a stone pot alongside rice

After eating a fair amount of the pork galbi, we ordered doenjang jjigae and rice. The stew, bubbling away in a stone pot, was the perfect thing to eat with rice after the meat. A spoonful of hot stew with rice — you really can't skip this combo at a BBQ restaurant.

Mul naengmyeon with icy broth

But ending there felt a little unsatisfying. So we finished with cool mul naengmyeon. The icy broth with slushy ice, noodles, cucumber, radish, and egg on top was genuinely refreshing after all that meat. Saving one last piece of the sweet pork galbi to eat alongside the naengmyeon was also a great combo. From pork galbi to doenjang jjigae, rice, and mul naengmyeon — it made for a really hearty lunch~~~!

A perfect course: eat, then explore Bakdal Market

View of the Bakdal Market alley after the meal

Personally, one thing I really liked about Sannae Sutbul Galbi Bakdal Branch was how close it is to Bakdal Market haha. I like browsing markets, and it doubles as a walk after the meal — isn't that a great combo? After a filling lunch, walking a loop around the market helped with digestion and was fun too.

Good pork galbi followed by a look around a traditional market — a solid lunch course for a leisurely day. If you're looking for a good BBQ restaurant in Bakdal-dong, Anyang, Sannae Sutbul Galbi Bakdal Branch is a place where you can eat a filling meal without a heavy price tag. Pork galbi at a Bakdal-dong BBQ restaurant, then a walk through Bakdal Market — this course is surprisingly great. Next time I have a reason to go to the market, I'll be back with this same plan~!
