Location and hours at Myeongyeok Bundang Sunae

Myeongyeok Bundang Sunae is a chicken kalguksu and naengmyeon specialist on the 1st floor of 9-7 Hwangsaeul-ro 200beon-gil, Bundang-gu, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do. It's open daily 11:00–21:00, with break time on weekdays 15:00–17:00 and weekends 16:00–17:00, and you get 2 hours of parking in the building.

Getting there from exit 3 of Sunae Station and the Sunday afternoon vibe

Myeongyeok Bundang Sunae sits on the 1st floor of the Hyundai Pantheon officetel building right at exit 3 of Sunae Station.

I visited around 2pm on a Sunday and it was still packed with customers inside 😉 Expect a wait around lunchtime, so keep that in mind.

As many know, the Hyundai Pantheon building is famous for being one of the easier places to park around Sunae. Plenty of spots, and 2 hours free means you don't have to rush. After parking, just head out toward Hanssem.

What's at the self-serve corner

The self-serve corner at Myeongyeok Bundang Sunae has diced radish kimchi, pickled radish, radish pickles, and rice ready to go. Let me introduce the self-serve corner first.

Diced radish kimchi, pickled radish, radish pickles, and rice made with none other than Suhyangmi rice are all provided 👍🏻👍🏻

And that's not all!! Every table has mustard and vinegar essential for naengmyeon, a spicy relish to kick up the chicken kalguksu, and geotjeori (fresh cabbage kimchi) that's a perfect match for kalguksu 😍

The menu includes recommended dishes, chicken kalguksu, naengmyeon sets, naengmyeon with beef shank broth, Western-style chicken katsu, plus drinks and alcohol, and even a dedicated kids' menu!

That would be the kids' dishware, gim, and vitamins. This place has earned top marks as somewhere great to bring kids 🫶🏻

Half-chicken kalguksu, ₩11,900

First up, today's star: half-chicken kalguksu 🥰

Both the chicken kalguksu and half-chicken kalguksu come with instructions for the best way to eat them, so following those makes it even tastier.

Taste the broth first, then slurp up the chewy noodles and geotjeori!!

Even at half a chicken, it's quite big and tender — perfect as a hearty, restorative meal!

Chicken kalguksu, ₩9,900, with perilla oil sauce

The chicken kalguksu came with a generous handful of nicely shredded chicken 💕

Dipping the noodles into the perilla oil sauce that came alongside gave them a nutty, refreshingly different flavor.

Western-style tenderloin katsu, ₩9,900

Hard to skip the katsu menu if you're with kids. Five pieces of tenderloin katsu, a dinner roll, and cabbage salad make for a generous plate ❤️

The meat inside was really tender and the Western-style sauce was nicely sweet. The dinner roll was also split open, so tucking a piece of chicken tenderloin katsu inside made a perfect little dessert-like bite!! I handed some out to the kids on the way out and they loved it 😍

Bibim naengmyeon, ₩8,900

Last but not least, the bibim naengmyeon I ordered! I wanted something spicy-sour-sweet, and thankfully it delivered on savory depth.

Naengmyeon is especially disappointing if it doesn't meet expectations, but the noodles were chewy and above all the sauce was delicious. I think adding the beef shank broth makes it even tastier 👍🏻👍🏻
