Haeseon, a specialist in aged sashimi courses near Sunae Station
On Tuesday evening, my husband and I visited Haeseon, a specialist in aged sashimi course meals near Sunae Station in Bundang. My husband often ends up eating dinner out, so when he got off work early that day, I really wanted us to have a delicious meal together.

Haeseon was also recommended to me by an acquaintance who lives in Sunae, Bundang. They say seasonal fresh seafood is delivered directly from the source and prepared while still alive. It was a premium aged-sashimi-course specialist that ages carefully selected top-quality live fish on the same day, with freshness and selling it all that day as the top priority.
Getting there, hours, and parking
Come out of Sunae Station Exit 1 and walk straight left toward Seohyeon Station, and it is on the first floor of the Daedeok Glory Building. There was a large tank outside holding fresh live fish, and the standing menu board clearly stated that the single aged sashimi course was ₩40,000 per person as of September 2026. I was curious about what the course included that day, and it was written on the chalkboard.

We reserved ahead for 7:30 p.m. When we arrived, there were diners at the tables on both the first and second floors, and we happened to get an empty window seat. We left the car behind and took public transportation because my husband and I planned to have a simple beer together.

Up the stairs from the first floor, there were also neat, quiet tables on the second floor, so I thought it would work well for company dinners or gatherings with family and friends. We took these interior photos after we had finished eating and all the other guests had left.

There was a liquor price list too, current as of September 2026.

The tables were so neat and clean that it instantly put me in a good mood. Once we sat down, they set out basic dipping sauces, seasoned doenjang (fermented soybean paste), and sashimi soy sauce. I put the chopsticks there myself. 😊 There was chojang (sweet-tangy red chili dipping sauce) at every table, so everyone could serve themselves.
What came with our aged assorted sashimi course for two
The table listed the order of the course dishes. When ours arrived, it included corn-cheese gratin and sea squirt instead of grilled king oyster mushrooms, while the rest was almost the same.
Single aged assorted sashimi course: beef-and-vegetable porridge and soup, sea squirt, assorted sashimi (flounder, red sea bream, and rockfish), live octopus and beef tartare tangtangi, corn-cheese griddle dish, grilled fish head, fries and shrimp tempura, and ttukbaegi spicy fish stew

The course for two arrived in order, beginning with pre-meal beef porridge, soup, and fresh sea squirt! I absolutely love sea squirt, you know~ haha. It was so nice to see it again after a long time~ 👏 Warming my stomach with hot beef-and-vegetable porridge was just perfect for this cool weather. The soup was nicely seasoned rather than salty, and it went well with the sashimi between bites. With sweet, fresh sea squirt as our snack, my husband and I clinked glasses over a beer after work! Since it was a post-work beer for both of us, even I, who do not usually drink much, found the cold beer extra delicious with such good food~ haha.

Thick and wonderfully chewy flounder, sea bream, and rockfish
Haeseon's main dish, the aged assorted sashimi, arrived. 👍👏 Every type was labeled, so it was easy to tell them apart. The plate came with radish sprouts, aged kimchi, rakkyo pickles, pickled ginger, and wasabi. These are photos from my angle and from my husband's angle, haha. This one is the flounder fin. My husband, whose hobby is sea fishing, kindly told me to eat it first because it is the tastiest part. 🥰

I tried the flounder fin first, and perhaps because it was aged sashimi, it was definitely chewier and more savory than live fish~ 👍 I also loved that all the fish was thicker than sashimi at other seafood restaurants, making every bite satisfyingly springy and chewy! 👏

Corn-cheese gratin is one of those standard side dishes you get at seafood restaurants like this, and kids love it too~ haha.

The clean white kimchi and pickled ginger were fresh too. Next, I had the aged red sea bream with sashimi soy sauce, wasabi, and radish sprouts. I tried the rockfish dipped in chojang as well, haha. One bite of sea bream too—what more is there to say? The chewy aged-sashimi texture was, in the words of kids these days, “in! sane! ly! good!” haha.

Fried sea bream head arrived too. Fish heads are so nutty and chewy and delicious, right? There was quite a bit of meat on it, so it was fun picking it clean.

I found the combination of live octopus and beef tartare tangtangi fascinating, and my foodie husband told me it was Gwangjang Market style. The octopus was so fresh that, honestly, it was a little creepy!! When I picked it up with my chopsticks to eat it, it wriggled so much that it was a bit difficult! Haha. I thought all the banchan (side dishes) had come out, but then fries and shrimp tempura arrived. Having fried food after sashimi got my appetite going all over again. 😊 The fries and coconut shrimp tempura had just been fried, so they were extra crisp and really nutty!

Ending with refreshing, spicy fish stew
To finish, a refreshing and spicy ttukbaegi (earthenware pot) fish stew arrived. The pot was extremely hot, so I think you need to be careful when eating it.

The spicy fish stew had lots of bean sprouts, enoki mushrooms, and vegetables, which made the broth even more refreshing and clean-tasting. A ₩40,000-per-person set at Haeseon in Sunae—can this spread really be for real?! 👍👍👍👏👏👏 A plate of beef tartare alone is not cheap, yet fresh live-octopus tangtangi was included in the course too! My husband and I savored assorted sashimi for the first time in a while and spent a relaxed evening together. The aged sashimi was clean and fresh, and with all the foods that paired nicely alongside it, it made for a thoroughly filling meal. I am going to remember it as an easy place to stop by whenever I crave premium aged sashimi in Bundang Sunae.
