Looking for a restaurant near Central Park? Wangchang Jokbal, soft jokbal and makguksu!

I went out for jokbal (braised pig's trotter) with my parents and my son after a long while. We were trying to figure out what to eat as a whole family, and landed on jokbal — this time we went to Wangchang Jokbal, a Sunae-dong restaurant near Sunae Station.

When you're eating out with family, taste matters, but so does whether everyone from the kid to the grandparents can eat comfortably, right!? That day, though, we ate well and full, from the jokbal to all the side dishes!!

Why we picked Wangchang Jokbal in Sunae-dong

Wangchang Jokbal has been making jokbal at this same spot for a long time, and they say they boil fresh, domestic raw trotters every day! I was curious how the jokbal would taste since they use broth simmered for a long time haha.

The interior felt quite clean and pleasant! We tend to eat dinner a bit early, so we arrived around 4pm, and they still greeted us warmly :)

Wangchang Jokbal boils fresh raw trotters daily and uses broth simmered for a long time! Maybe that's why the jokbal looked so appetizing even from the outside haha. I also took a clip to capture the atmosphere ^^

If you're looking for somewhere to eat dinner near Sunae Station, or a restaurant near Central Park, this is worth checking out! Our family ordered the large jokbal, the complimentary steamed egg, and makguksu too.

What side dishes come with the jokbal?

The complimentary side dishes were surprisingly varied and clearly made with care — there was even a warm soup, so my parents had some, and my son polished off a whole bowl with rice mixed into it ^^

Every single side dish was delicious and felt thoughtfully made, so it already earned a pass just from the basic banchan.

Springy skin, tender meat, no gamey smell

Finally, the jokbal arrives!!! I tried a piece — do I even need to say how it tasted. The glossy skin was chewy without being tough, and the meat was so soft my hand kept reaching for more. Despite being simmered a long time, it wasn't mushy at all — the balance of chewiness and tenderness was really great *_*

Even my parents, who are sensitive to any off smell in meat, ate it comfortably and happily, so I was really glad we chose jokbal for a family meal. Seeing my mom and dad enjoy it made me feel so happy ><

Jokbal with makguksu: how the pairing tastes

It's not just the jokbal that's delicious — the side dishes that come with it are also made with care, so tasty!! Makguksu (cold buckwheat noodles), ㅠㅠㅠㅠ can't skip it. Mixing it up and taking a bite, ahh~~~ it hit the spot.

Rolling up the makguksu and eating it with a piece of jokbal was a great combo too, and after a bit of everything I really thought I'd burst haha. Sitting around together as a family and eating all sorts of things made it that much more fun and happy.

Is Wangchang Jokbal good for a three-generation dinner?

If you're looking for a good jokbal spot, a Sunae-dong restaurant, I'd recommend Wangchang Jokbal : ) The skin is chewy and the meat is soft, so it's good for everyone regardless of age, the staff were friendly, and we could enjoy plenty of side dishes too — good good!!! bbbb

My son finished off a whole bowl of rice with the complimentary steamed egg and tender jokbal on the side haha. Since this was a meal with both my parents and my son, I paid a bit more attention to what we ordered, and it made me happy that everyone was satisfied.
