Suwon roastery café for bean browsing: Jeong Jiyeong

A roastery café for a break during Starfield Suwon shopping

I was out shopping at Starfield Suwon and looking for a café where I could take a quick break with a cup of coffee, so I stopped by Jeong Jiyeong Coffee Roasters Starfield Suwon Branch.

Since it is on the second floor of Starfield Suwon, it is easy to pop into while shopping. Coffee lovers can also have fun browsing the wide selection of beans.

The first thing I noticed on entering was the neat yet distinctive café atmosphere. The black and brown tones worked together beautifully, giving it that very current roastery-café feel.

Browsing a wide range of single-origin beans

There were especially many beans displayed behind the counter. They had everything from DARK ROAST and DECAF to single-origin beans from Guatemala, Ethiopia, Colombia, Kenya, and more.

Each bean’s flavor profile was available to check, so I thought even someone who does not know much about coffee could choose one to suit their taste. It was fun to look at the beans themselves and compare their aromas and flavors, which made it feel quite different from an ordinary chain café.

Coffee and hand-drip options

The menu had a wide range of coffee drinks, from Americanos and café lattes to vanilla lattes, black sesame lattes, and coconut drinks.

There was also a separate hand-drip menu. With beans such as Kenya Kiambu AA, Guatemala Antigua Pastoral, Ethiopia Momora Natural G1, and Colombia El Paraiso Double Anaerobic Lychee Peach, each with a characterful name alone, it seemed especially well suited to coffee lovers.

Coconut drinks and what we ordered

When I visited, the coconut drinks were what really caught my eye. They looked quite pretty and sweet even in the photos, so they seemed perfect to enjoy with coffee. We ordered drinks and took our time enjoying them.

Looking at the drinks in the photos, one had that latte-like feeling of smooth milk and coffee naturally blended together, while the other was topped with cream and looked absolutely delicious. The cream-topped drink was the kind of menu item you find yourself admiring for a while before taking a sip. The coffee’s pleasant bitterness and soft cream went together well, so it was nice to enjoy almost like dessert.

Looking around at beans and desserts, too

Another fun thing about Jeong Jiyeong Coffee Roasters Starfield Suwon Branch is that you can look at the beans in person and choose them. It is also a space that photographs beautifully, so I would recommend it not only to coffee drinkers but also to anyone who enjoys café atmospheres and browsing little objects.

Products related to coffee beans were displayed along one side of the shop, and the stylish package designs caught my attention too. They were sorted by type, including DARK, DECAF, and SINGLE, so they looked like good options for choosing gift beans as well.

Desserts were available too. The menu included a variety of things that would pair well with coffee, such as Basque cheesecake, Lamington, lemon madeleines, American chunk cookies, fig cake, and fruit sandwiches.

A resting stop in the middle of shopping

Shopping can tire you out more quickly than you expect, so it was great to have a place inside Starfield where you can properly enjoy coffee and take a break. Starfield Suwon is especially large, and after looking around at this and that, your legs can start to ache—this was just the right place to rest over a good cup of coffee.

More than simply a place to drink coffee, I felt it was a café that people interested in coffee beans and roasting would enjoy even more. If you are looking for an atmospheric café in Suwon, or somewhere to take a short break after shopping at Starfield, I think Jeong Jiyeong Coffee Roasters Starfield Suwon Branch is worth stopping by.

I would especially recommend it if you are looking for a good café in Suwon and prefer a distinctive roastery café to an overly ordinary chain. Its second-floor Starfield Suwon location is easy to find, and I also loved that it offers a variety of beans and hand-drip coffee.

Jeong Jiyeong Coffee Roasters Starfield Suwon Branch was a place where I could enjoy a leisurely coffee, take photos in a pretty space, and rest comfortably in the middle of shopping.

The next time I visit Starfield Suwon, I would like to try different beans and desserts too. ☕️
