Jeju souvenir dol hareubang madeleines introduction

When you travel to Jeju, everyone spends ages wondering what gifts to bring home, right? I thought about what to choose as a Jeju souvenir too, and I figured I absolutely had to buy something edible that everyone would enjoy.

Choosing edible Jeju souvenirs

Why I chose Harubangne dol hareubang madeleines

I want to introduce the Harubangne set I bought at Today Jeju Shilla Duty Free Shop Jeju Branch, which is famous for its dol hareubang (Jeju stone-grandfather statue) madeleines. One look and you can tell: this dessert came from Jeju!

A vivid orange wall and a huge dol hareubang greet you at the entrance! It is Today Jeju’s mascot. Today Jeju Shilla Duty Free Shop Jeju Branch is inside Shilla Duty Free Shop, but it is a non-duty-free store, so Korean residents can shop there too. Maybe because so many Chinese visitors buy from here, the salesperson was Chinese as well. She was fluent in Korean, so there was no difficulty making my purchase~

Harubangne eight-flavor set: price and flavors

I heard the Harubangne eight-flavor set was the most popular, so I bought it! It costs ₩28,200. I got it to share with my mom and to give some to my dad on the mainland. They come individually wrapped in a box, so they are great for eating one at a time when your energy dips during a trip. They are cute, tasty, and the perfect one-bite size! The eight flavors are Hallabong citrus, matcha, carrot, cactus fruit, Earl Grey, black sesame, chocolate, and fig.

There was also a lighter four-flavor set. It was colorful and cute, so it would make a lovely gift. Harubangne is moist and easy to eat, so I think people of all ages would be happy to receive it.

There was a chocolate-coated Harubang set too. If I visit again, I want to try the chocolate-coated Harubangne! They say they use clean ingredients from Jeju, so I could enjoy them with confidence.

They even had Harubang Sand! It seemed a little like ang-butter, a sweet red-bean-and-butter sandwich. I liked that there were so many flavors ready to choose from according to your taste.

Last-day souvenir shopping near Jeju Airport

Seeing Today Jeju’s Harubangne all piled onto one plate made them look even more delicious~ So colorful! Today Jeju Shilla Duty Free Shop Jeju Branch is close to Jeju Airport, so it is a nice place to stop on your last day. It was also close to the Maison Glad Hotel where I stayed, so I popped right over~

They packed everything neatly into a bright orange shopping bag. I got more curious about Today Jeju and checked its Instagram; although the brand began in 2021, it has kept very active with lots of corporate and public-institution group orders, a collaboration with Ottogi, and a pop-up at Shinsegae Department Store Gangnam. It also seemed to visit orphanages regularly and work toward social responsibility and positive influence. Totally good, good!

Mochirong next door was adorable too. Apparently, it sells rice dacquoise and sandwich cookies. Honestly, the character was so charming that my eyes kept drifting over there.

If I travel to Jeju again, I am planning to buy souvenirs here again. Jeju is full of tiny, adorable desserts—I want to go back already~!
