Pangyo BBQ dinner after break time: Iberico pork neck, Dwaeji Mansion
In short
Dwaeji Mansion Pangyo Avenue France Branch is a Korean BBQ pork restaurant on the ground floor of Avenue France in Pangyo, Seongnam, where staff grill the thick cuts at your table and rest the meat halfway through. Arriving right after break time, the writer ordered two servings of thick Iberico pork neck plus kimchi jjigae (kimchi stew) with rice, and found the side dishes unusually thoughtful: minari stems, wood ear mushroom salad, herring roe and fresh wasabi. The first bite with just salt burst with juice, making Dwaeji Mansion the writer's new default for grilled pork.

How to get there: a 380m walk from Pangyo Station Exit 1
Ahh! I won't say anything else — this is genuinely, genuinely delicious pork belly restaurant in Pangyo!!!!♥

Dwaeji Mansion Pangyo Avenue France Branch is an easy walk from Pangyo Station Exit 1, and parking is convenient too. From the outside it just looks like... well, a pork belly place, but once you actually eat here, you go — wow, why did I only find out about this now?

We visited right after break time and there were already customers there! Even at an early dinner hour, this Pangyo Avenue France favorite filled up fast :)

Ordering two servings of thick Iberico pork neck and kimchi jjigae
What we ordered was two servings of Iberico thick pork neck and kimchi jjigae with rice included. There were so many kinds of pork belly that I asked the staff which was best, and they carefully explained each one — the friendly service here was definitely part of what made the meal so enjoyable. The Iberico thick pork neck was a nutty-flavor explosion, and honestly, since I've been watching my weight and not eating much rice these days, this was the most I've eaten at dinner in a long time haha.

Side dishes at Dwaeji Mansion, from minari stems to herring roe
It's rare to find such thoughtfully prepared side dishes to go with pork belly in Pangyo — minari (water celery) stems, cabbage leaves for wraps, wood ear mushroom salad, pickled ginger, herring roe, fresh wasabi, fish sauce, and more.

The wood ear mushroom dish combined regular and white wood ear mushrooms tossed in a tangy dressing, and what really stuck with me was the minari stem — I thought it was garlic scape at first. Eaten with a piece of meat, the fragrant minari scent adds a magical clean finish to your mouth +.+

The herring roe and fresh wasabi each bring such a distinct character that pairing them with the Iberico pork neck kept things interesting, letting me enjoy the whole meal without getting bored.

Staff grill the thick pork neck and rest it for you
Here comes the thick Iberico pork neck! It truly lived up to its name — thick, with a good balance of fat and lean meat for a nutty flavor. The meat itself was seasoned lightly with pepper beforehand, so that very first bite dipped in salt after grilling was pure art. Juice explosion!!

Look how thick this Iberico thick pork neck at Dwaeji Mansion Pangyo Avenue France Branch is~

It's not easy to get thick cuts of meat cooked just right, but with the staff watching and grilling it carefully for us, the meal became even more enjoyable — a real Pangyo favorite :) They also grilled minari, green onion, mushrooms and garlic alongside, and midway through, they did a resting process — what stood out was resting the meat together with minari at this stage. The attentiveness throughout made it feel like a place people never visit just once :)

I wasn't even planning to eat dinner tonight... and with the holiday coming up I really should be watching my weight even more... but looking at these photos my mouth is watering haha.
You really should check out the video to see what the Iberico thick pork neck looks like as it grills at Dwaeji Mansion

They even asked if the size the pork belly was cut into was okay for us — that kind of friendly service made me feel even better as we got into really enjoying Dwaeji Mansion's pork belly.
Thick, but tender, with no off smell — just pure nuttiness in this Iberico thick pork neck~
Kimchi jjigae with rice included: worth ordering alongside
We also ordered the kimchi jjigae with rice included as a side, and ordering this together is honestly........ highly recommended!

So good — that exact savory, umami-bursting kimchi jjigae flavor we all know~

The kimchi jjigae is loaded generously with meat and vegetables too. Ah, my salivary glands are under attack again......

That first piece of Pangyo pork belly dipped in just salt — I will never forget it~~~~

You can also dip it in fish sauce,

pair it with pickled ginger and fresh wasabi, or with herring roe too... the meat quality is so good that it's delicious with just salt, but with so many thoughtful side dishes to pair it with, it's bound to taste even better — a real hidden gem for pork belly in Pangyo!! Whenever I want pork belly now, this is going to be the place, no question ♥
