My little sister was craving meat, and I happened to have errands in Pangyo anyway, so I thought — let's find a good pork belly spot near Pangyo Station! That's how I discovered Dwaeji Mansion Pangyo Avenue France Branch!!

Here's my review of a rare weekday lunch spent eating well with family and having a great time at Dwaeji Mansion.

I parked in the basement level of Pangyo Avenue France and found Dwaeji Mansion easily coming up! If you're taking public transit, it's a 5-minute walk from Pangyo Station, right on the main road on the 1st floor of Pangyo Avenue France 🤗

Booking a 1pm weekday lunch for pork belly in Pangyo

My family likes to eat a solid lunch, so we called Dwaeji Mansion and made a 1pm reservation before visiting! A Pangyo pork belly spot that actually does lunch — how rare and precious is that 🐷💕

Checking the menu!! They stock a wide range of premium Korean pork and Iberico cuts, and the side menu items also stood out for their variety, with something for everyone's taste, young and old 👀

We sat down at a clean spot near the counter with a good view outside and ordered right away! I skipped breakfast on purpose so I'd be extra hungry and excited 🫠🫠

Whoa, the sheer number of celebrity autographs on the wall...👍🏻👍🏻 This is the real deal, Dwaeji Mansion!!!

What we ordered: pork belly for two and grilled mixed vegetables

Ordering was easy via tablet — we got pork belly for two, grilled mixed vegetables, and zero-sugar cola! I wanted to order the Imsil grilled cheese too, but it happened to be sold out, darn it. Next time I'm definitely getting that cheese!

The sauces and basic side dishes were laid out quickly, and every single one paired perfectly with the meat!

Best side dish at Dwaeji Mansion: seasoned wood ear mushrooms

Minari (water celery) and seasoned wood ear mushrooms — these wood ear mushrooms were absolutely amazing, folks. They even refilled it for us, so I ate happily — my number one favorite side dish in my heart ㅠㅠㅠ🫶🏻 I didn't get a close-up shot, but the baek-kimchi (white kimchi) was also refreshing and delicious.

The seasoned scallions were genuinely delicious too, with that sharp scallion kick coming through so well when eaten together — I mindlessly kept scooping it up with the meat lol. Scallions are a must with pork!!

At Dwaeji Mansion, charcoal is laid beneath the grill plate like this, and on top they place a thick coated plate that keeps the meat from sticking.

The grilled mixed vegetable set included king oyster mushroom, shiitake mushroom, bok choy, scallion, zucchini, shishito pepper, minari, and whole garlic — a really varied lineup!

The charcoal must be good quality because the heat came up strong, and the vegetables and meat cooked really fast haha

The staff carefully arranged the grilled vegetables in a neat row on a stainless plate for us to enjoy — such a nice touch 👍🏻 Soaked up in pork fat, grilled to just the right doneness with perfect precision — that grilled mixed vegetable plate 🤤

Salted herring roe or fish sauce: which pairing tastes best?

Another highlight of Dwaeji Mansion! They even provide herring roe and fish sauce, which you rarely see at other BBQ restaurants!!

The vegetables finished cooking faster than the meat!! Personally, I thought the vegetables tasted best paired with the pickled cheongyang chili peppers they served alongside.

Once the meat was mostly cooked, they grilled fragrant minari right alongside it! The pork, cooked to a perfect golden color, was placed on a stand for us and we dug in eagerly 🤤 They showed us all the different ways to eat it — with salt, scallion strips, the special fish sauce, or minari with herring roe — and after trying each one, the winner was pork + grilled minari + herring roe!!

It was great — and pretty — to eat a piece of pork with a bundle of grilled minari on top, so touching 🙊 Thank you to the staff who carefully grilled every single ingredient, finishing with bok choy.

One last shot — pork belly topped with minari paired with fish sauce, a fresh and delicious combination!

Lol, I recorded this video just so I could rewatch it whenever I get hungry again 🐷 We ate so, so well! The meat itself was delicious, and every single side dish was clean and appetite-boosting — that's Dwaeji Mansion for you!
