That's when Kkweda, a Pangyo Avenue France restaurant with gorgeous interiors and great atmosphere, comes to mind! Let me introduce this Pangyo Japanese omakase course restaurant, which changes its menu every 4-6 months with seasonal ingredients, in detail :)

How to find Kkweda in Pangyo Avenue France, and what the seating is like
Kkweda is located on the side of Pangyo Avenue France where the Starbucks and Olive Young are, but I found it easier to spot from outside the building. Heading toward the road, you'll immediately notice the beige-toned exterior with its soft texture.
Inside, there's a large counter table in front of the open kitchen, plus tables good for group gatherings. Not pictured, but there's also a private room in the back, so you can dine privately too. It looked like a great spot for a family meeting before marriage or a company dinner on the corporate card haha.

There were 4 chefs in the kitchen, and since it's an open kitchen, you could watch the whole cooking process. It was fun watching the dishes come together, and more than anything, the kitchen was spotless, which was reassuring hygiene-wise!

Non-alcoholic kombucha and mojito at Kkweda for days without drinking
Kkweda requires a drink order, but non-alcoholic options are available too, so I ordered a non-alcoholic kombucha and a mojito. Lucky for me since I've been avoiding alcohol these days.
This time I tried the Summer Stamina Course, which has been running since July! They said the menu changes in October, so if you want the Stamina Course, go now haha. Some kombuchas taste way too vinegary, but this one had an apple base so it wasn't sour at all — perfect for cleansing your palate between courses!!
Kkweda's Summer Stamina Course, dish by dish
Watermelon carpaccio

The first appetizer was diced sous-vide squid and melon with begonia chili peppers and herbs, in a refreshing, tangy watermelon juice(?) haha. Edible flowers on top too, so pretty!! Watermelon is a classic summer fruit, so it fit perfectly with the start of the Summer Stamina Course.

Grilled vegetable salad with Chodang sweet corn custard
The grilled vegetable salad has zucchini, carrot, pickled apple, prosciutto, and a house-made yogurt dressing — the colors alone were so pretty haha.
The choding corn custard is made with cream from summer-in-season choding corn (a sweet Korean corn variety), topped with shallots, scallops, and pecans. Mixing the toppings and cream together made it smooth yet nutty and delicious. The crunchy pecans especially worked well!!

Charcoal-grilled Iberico pork
The first main dish is charcoal-grilled Iberico pork collar with a potato garnish. Dipping it in the herb chimichurri sauce in the center gave it a rich meaty flavor.

Sea bass karaage (Japanese-style fried fish)
Sea bass, in season during summer, fried crispy and dipped in yuzu ponzu. The batter was thin and crispy and the fish was soft — delicious!

Eel donburi (rice bowl)
The main dish of the Summer Stamina Course — eel rice bowl! Coated in a house-made sauce with a great sweet-and-salty balance, and it came with a pickled melon garnish and miso soup, making it an even more filling meal haha.

Duck soup with neungi mushrooms
Whew, the food still isn't over haha. This is a duck soup made with a broth of neungi mushrooms and duck bones, and the broth was so delicious! I was already full from the eel donburi, but there was no way I could leave the duck breast meat behind haha.

Yogurt sorbet
Finally, the yogurt sorbet arrived as the closing dessert of the course. The refreshing sorbet paired with mixed berry jam and cookie crumble was a nice, clean way to finish off the meal haha.

What kind of occasion suits Kkweda best?
With its great atmosphere and well-composed course, Kkweda seems like a perfect spot for anniversaries, family meetings before marriage, or company dinners on the corporate card. If you want to set a special mood in Pangyo, definitely check it out!
