Three-generation cake outing at Uijeongbu forest café Forerest

Today I'm bringing you a review of Forerest, a café in Nogyang-dong, Uijeongbu. This day, after having lunch with my mom and grandma, we said "let's grab a coffee!" and went looking for a café.

Where is Forerest, and what are its hours?

On the way in I was thinking "is this really the right place...?" but once we went a bit further in, this gorgeous café popped up like magic! The vibe made it instantly clear why it's called 'Forerest.' The whole area around the café is surrounded by lush green grass and trees, so it really felt like being right in the middle of a forest.

Behind the shop there's a spacious private parking lot, so even if you drive there on a weekend, parking shouldn't be a worry at all.

Unlike big commercial cafés, Forerest is full of a cozy, nature-friendly feel, and I really loved that. It's the perfect atmosphere for sitting outside with a coffee now that the weather's turning cool. Even on a weekday lunch hour there were already tons of customers — it seemed like word had already spread about this being a great-vibe spot, and everyone knew where to find it.

Walking in, the space was clearly a converted house. As soon as we stepped inside, my mom said, "this used to be that tofu place our family came to all the time!" There used to be a tofu shop here that we really loved eating at with my mom and dad, and it had turned into this pretty café.

Inside, the main and largest area feels like a living room, with big tables set up there.

And further in, there were as many as 4 separate rooms! Each space had tables arranged efficiently, and it was spacious enough that even if lots of customers came on a weekend, everyone could probably find a seat.

For drinks we ordered an iced Americano, a hot Americano, and a hot caramel macchiato. And apparently Forerest is also super famous as a cheesecake spot? My mom and I are total bread lovers so we couldn't just pass that up — we ended up ordering one cheesecake each, three total!

• Original Basque cheesecake (₩7,500) — need I say more, it was the classic done right: nutty, dense, and so delicious!
• Chocolate Basque cheesecake (₩8,000) — not just overly sweet, it had a deep, rich chocolate flavor throughout. Perfect for anyone who loves a deep cacao taste.
• Matcha Basque cheesecake (₩8,000) — you could really taste the rich, mellow depth and strong aroma of matcha itself, delicious.

Actually my mom likes bread in general but isn't usually a fan of cheesecake — but she gave this one a thumbs-up and said it was legit.

Personally, what I liked most was that the sweetness didn't feel artificial or forced — instead the deep flavor of the ingredients themselves really came through. And my mom saw some other reviews and said the black sesame Basque cheesecake looked good too! So I said, "then let's come back for that next time," and I think we'll be visiting again soon just for the black sesame.

Why Forerest works for an outing with parents and grandparents

Because Forerest's space is divided into several rooms, it never felt noisy or chaotic even with lots of customers around, which I really loved. Honestly, out of all the cafés I've been to recently, this one really stands out as a favorite.

The atmosphere is so pretty and cozy that it's great for a couple's date, and just as great for visiting as a family with parents or elders, like we did. If you want to relax with a cup of coffee surrounded by nature, definitely stop by Forerest, a café in Uijeongbu!
