Chuseok holiday café in Uijeongbu open till midnight: Forerest

The weather's been so nice lately and I love spending relaxed time at cafés, so this time I went to a Uijeongbu café with great atmosphere. I'd wanted to visit this place for a while, and it turned out to be bigger and more unique than I expected. It's surrounded by lots of trees, so even from inside you can see all this green scenery 🌿

Where Forerest is, opening hours and parking

Forerest has parking for over 100 cars and stays open year-round, so if you're looking for a café to visit in Uijeongbu this Chuseok holiday, it'd be great to bring the whole family :)

The entrance photo zone and European-style wooden ceiling

The café's entrance was a bit unique right from the start. The wooden ceiling and the lighting gave it a slightly old European-building kind of feel?

Near the entrance, there are wooden planks laid out like stepping stones across the wood floor — this felt like a photo zone too, so it was great for pictures haha 📸

A vintage wood-toned interior like a converted house

What was a little unique about the inside of Forerest was that it had rooms, almost like it used to actually be a house haha. The overall wood tones gave it a warm feel, and a lot of the tables and chairs had that vintage furniture look. I love that old-furniture vibe, so it was fun just wandering around and looking at the café haha.

There are window seats too! Would be great to sit here with coffee and read a book sometime — I actually saw quite a few people who'd brought books to read at the café.

It's a pet-friendly café, so if you're bringing your pet along, make sure to check the usage guidelines 😍

Forerest's menu and what we ordered

I took a photo of the menu too :) They had a good basic variety of coffee, plus teas, ades, and non-coffee options, so it seemed like a good choice even for people who can't drink coffee, and totally fine to visit with kids haha. That day we ordered 2 iced Americanos + a chocolate Basque cheesecake and an Earl Grey Basque cheesecake!

Here's how the order came out. We sat at an outdoor table, and since the weather was cool that day, sitting outside felt amazing haha. Putting the cake and coffee together on the wooden tray made for pretty photos too haha. Sitting outside especially, with the green trees in the background, made it even prettier.

Chocolate Basque cheesecake

The chocolate cheesecake had a rich chocolate flavor with a slightly dense texture, so it went well with the coffee. I personally love this kind of rich chocolate dessert, so I enjoyed it a lot haha ❣️

Earl Grey Basque cheesecake

And the Earl Grey cheesecake was soft and light, so alternating between it and the chocolate cake was really nice. If you like cake, don't just get coffee — order a dessert too! Honestly I'd recommend this place as a spot for great cake in Uijeongbu :)

Outdoor tables that feel like sitting in a forest

And here's the part I really loved about Forerest — the outdoor seating. There are so many trees around the café that sitting outside genuinely feels like being in a forest. Reading a book surrounded by trees like this would be so relaxing... On nice-weather days, I'd recommend sitting outside over inside! 🌲🪵

How the lighting changes Forerest in the evening

Forerest is pretty during the day, but the mood changes again in the evening once the lights turn on. With lights glowing between the trees, it feels almost like a little café tucked inside a forest. Since it's open late into the night too, it's also a good option for after dinner when you're looking for a café. haha

Is Forerest worth the trip?

Overall, Forerest, a café in Nogyang-dong, Uijeongbu, is a place where forest + vintage space + delicious desserts come together. I especially liked how convenient it is to visit by car, and how nice it is to have coffee outdoors! If you're looking for a nice-atmosphere café in Uijeongbu, a light weekend date course, or a drive course for some fresh air nearby, this place is worth a stop :)
