Why Forerest works for a weekend drive and a forest stroll

It was a lovely weekend and my mind was a bit restless, so I was wondering where to go, when I heard about a large café near Uijeongbu that's perfect for a stroll. I drove straight there.

Lately I've been really into escaping the stuffy concrete jungle downtown and seeking out spaces surrounded by nature haha

The weather was cool and clear, so this seemed like the perfect route for a drive right after lunch. It's a suburban area not far from downtown Uijeongbu, so it's easy to get to, and the lush green trees welcoming you as soon as you arrive make you feel healed from the entrance itself.

How is the entry road and parking at Forerest?

Driving in, there were clear signs along the entrance road, so finding the place wasn't too hard. But the last stretch before the café is a bit of a dirt road, so I had to drive carefully and slowly.

The parking lot itself was spacious and comfortable, so I could park without any stress. Even beginner drivers shouldn't have to worry about parking at all!!

The exterior, with its red roof and brick pillars, felt like a cozy European lodge — a warm, fairy-tale-like atmosphere.

Stepping inside, the cute yet emotional interior caught my eye right away.

Through the large windows, you can see the green forest filling the view, so wherever you sit, you can take in the changing seasons of nature.

Warm wood-toned tables and chairs are cozily arranged, and stylish props like a large speaker and a guitar are set here and there, making it a great spot for Instagram-worthy photos.

Forerest's best feature: the outdoor terrace and garden

But I think the biggest charm point of this place is definitely the outdoor terrace and garden.

Sitting at the outdoor tables under the parasols, with the cool breeze and the rustling of leaves, I could really enjoy the phytoncides. These days, way more people seemed to be sitting outside and taking their time rather than staying indoors.

Are drink prices at Forerest reasonable?

I went to the counter to look over the drink and dessert menus. Lately, whenever I've visited other large cafés nearby, the drink prices have often felt burdensome — but here, most coffees and drinks are priced around ₩6,000–7,000, which I thought was really reasonable and fair.

With such approachable prices, it felt like a genuinely nice place to stop for tea after lunch. After some thought, I ordered a clean, rich iced latte and a refreshing, tangy omija ade (five-flavor berry ade), plus two desserts — Basque cheesecake and Basque chocolate cake.

When the buzzer went off and I picked up the tray, the menu items arranged beautifully on the wooden tray already made my mouth water.

First, I tried the refreshingly bright omija ade.

The deep red gradient looked cool just to look at, and the fizzy carbonation with the tart-sweet flavor unique to omija rinsed my palate refreshingly — very appealing.

The iced latte also had a perfect ratio of nutty milk to bold espresso, a clean flavor that anyone could enjoy without any dislikes.

Next came the dessert time I'd been looking forward to. The Basque cheesecake on the wooden plate had a golden, nutty-scorched surface, and the inside was soft and moist, packed with cheese flavor.

The moment it hit my tongue, the dense, richly melting cheese flavor paired amazingly with the latte.

The Basque chocolate cake we also brought over had presence from its deep dark brown color alone.

It wasn't the typical simple sweetness of chocolate — instead it had a bittersweet, luxurious cacao aroma with a dense richness like fondant chocolate. It wasn't overly sweet, and the cheese's thickness blended with the chocolate's smoothness, making it a wonderful dessert to enjoy with an Americano or the tangy omija ade.

Walking Forerest's outdoor garden path

After enjoying the delicious drinks and cakes, we held hands and walked along the café's outdoor garden path.

Strolling along the path laid out among the dense trees, my stress melted away and a sense of peace settled in.

It would be hard to find anything more satisfying as a date course for couples or a weekend family outing. With the quiet forest view, delicious desserts, and refreshing drinks, this visit was complete in every way — nothing lacking.
