Haebangchon pizza bar in Seoul with terrace beer seats: TPM hbc

In short

TPM hbc (더피제리아마켓) is a pizza bar tucked into a Haebangchon alley in Yongsan, Seoul, serving seasonal-ingredient pizza alongside beer and natural wine. On the terrace, the bill came to 71,000 won in total: Seoul Margherita 28,000 won, lactic-fermented pickle 5,000 won, Rolleve Premium beer 18,000 won, and a 20,000 won corkage fee for a sour beer brought from outside. The banga-leaf pizza with mustard-leaf kimchi pickle made TPM hbc a terrace pizza-and-beer spot worth returning to on a cool evening.

Haebangchon's go-to pizza spot: TPM hbc.

Signature shot of pizza and beer at TPM hbc in Haebangchon

With the weather finally cooling down, I went for an outdoor terrace night in Haebangchon again after a while. This time I visited TPM hbc (더피제리아마켓), a Haebangchon pizza spot known for great pies! It's a place where you can enjoy pizza alongside beer and wine — and with a terrace seating area, it seemed like the perfect spot for pizza-and-beer on a nice day. The pizza was genuinely delicious and the terrace vibe was great too, so here's my honest review.

What are the interior and seating like at TPM hbc?

TPM hbc sits deep in a Haebangchon alley. Walking in, the first thing you see is a bar table facing the kitchen. With dim lighting and a woody interior, the whole place had a cozy, hip mood going. Right at the entrance was that bar table — so this really was the spot everyone means by #HaebangchonVibes.

Further inside there were regular tables and sofa seating. Tables ranged from 2 to 6 people, and the sofa seats started at 3 people. Groups enjoying pizza and beer together looked so fun... Anyway, with the round ceiling lights, floor-to-ceiling windows, and orange sofas, the whole scene felt like something out of a movie — stylish and hip. I loved it.

Haebangchon outdoor drinking: the TPM hbc terrace

There are two terrace tables set up in front of TPM hbc, and on the day I visited, a breeze had suddenly picked up and there was that unmistakable smell of autumn in the air — I immediately thought the terrace seats were about to become impossible to snag.

This really is THE spot for Haebangchon outdoor drinking. Luckily no one else was around, so I sat on the terrace — the weather was exactly right for a beer outside, and I was so glad I chose to sit out there.

After that brutal summer finally ended, feeling that gentle autumn breeze for the first time in ages put me in such a good mood. If you want pizza and beer outdoors in Haebangchon, definitely claim a terrace table at TPM hbc during the nice September–October weather for a date-night spot.

TPM hbc menu and prices (pizza, beer, natural wine)

TPM hbc Haebangchon makes its pizzas and dishes using seasonal ingredients sourced from local producers. Rather than sticking to traditional Italian-style pizza, they reinterpret it using Korean ingredients, so the menu felt quite different from other pizza places.

Seoul Margherita pizza: what does banga leaf taste like?

A whole Seoul Margherita pizza
Seoul Margherita placed on the table

The dish I was most looking forward to that day: the Seoul Margherita! It comes with banga pesto and banga leaf (방아잎, a Korean mint-family herb).

Close-up of the pizza topped with banga pesto and banga leaf

Honestly, I hardly ever eat banga leaf, so I worried the flavor might be too strong — but it was way less intense than I expected, and actually really fragrant and delicious. I love perilla leaf, but this had a completely different aroma — some kind of herb flavor I'd genuinely never tasted before.

Turns out I like banga leaf after all... it was so fragrant, I loved it. And the dough was seriously good too. Chewy and elastic, but not dry even at the crust's edge — I ended up eating almost the whole crust.

Eating it with Tabasco sauce and the mustard-leaf kimchi pickle was next-level good. Highly recommend this Margherita.

Lactic-fermented pickle (mustard-leaf kimchi pickle), 5,000 won

When you order pizza, you first get a small complimentary serving of mustard-leaf kimchi (갓김치) pickle — and it was so good. That first serving isn't refillable, but they said ordering an extra ₩5,000 portion gives you a lot more, so I just ordered another one. It comes with mustard-leaf kimchi and celery, and it was way better than I expected.

What surprised me most was the mustard-leaf kimchi had a hint of perilla oil aroma and a slight tang. It went so well with the pizza — I'd honestly recommend adding it from the start. So good.

Rolleve Premium beer, 18,000 won

Rolleve Premium canned beer with a glass

I also ordered the Rolleve Premium, something I'd wanted to try for a while. I'd stopped by Dalmaek Super, a bottle shop in Gyeongnidan-gil, and saw it at a similar price point, so the pricing here seemed fair enough to order. It turned out sweeter than I expected, so it wasn't entirely my style.

Still, that initial burst of hop aroma on the first sip was great, and it paired surprisingly well with the Seoul Margherita. On its own, not really my taste — but for pizza and beer, it worked.

Corkage 20,000 won: bringing your own sour beer

We brought our own bottle of sour beer (Hillfarm Clara) and used the corkage service.

I love pairing good sour beer with pizza, so having corkage available was a huge plus. This Hillfarm sour beer was so good it was mind-blowing 🤤
